Alpaca Inn
Certificate of Excellence

We had 30 of us staying at the Alpaca Inn for a family reunion. We used 5 of the 8 rooms. It was perfect for us! The location is excellent. We love that the rooms all open to a boardwalk around a big grassy area. The children had a wonderful time playing on the grass, and the adults could visit and talk while watching the children. The rooms were spacious enough and clean. We loved the keyless entry, so we didn't have to carry around keys. The staff was so helpful and friendly - they were happy to point us in the right direction. We would stay here again.

My husband and I visited the Lava Hot Springs for a few nights and stayed in the Alpaca Inn. The workers were absolutely wonderful, kind, generous, helpful, and accommodating. They were very flexible with check out times, and very pleasant to be around. The rooms were very clean, smelled nice, and was decorated nicely. The exterior is also very enjoyable, having patio furniture outside each room to sip coffee in the morning, or enjoy the fresh air and beautiful the landscape. I loved the touch of home, there was a barbecue outside on the patio open to your use. You cannot beat the location, it was just off of the main road, and within two blocks either way from the grocery store, as well as the hot springs.

Stayed here overnight while traveling from Yellowstone. We were exhausted from driving and arrived without a reservation. The ladies running the Inn were very welcoming and the Inn was perfect. Beautifully landscaped, wonderfully decorated. The Alpaca touches gave a personal and relaxed vibe. Really liked the room and location (walking distance to hot springs) and would have liked to spend more time there. Only caution to other spontaneous travelers is that the owners are not always on site; we were fortunate to arrive when they were there. I believe you can always call them and they will come by to check you in, but if you are arriving later in the day or evening without a reservation, you might want to call ahead so they know you are coming. Really, really liked the Alpaca Inn and will plan to stay there when in the area in the future.

We stayed in the family room on the weekend of July 19th, our family also rented two additional regular sized rooms. The family room was so nice, clean, plenty of pillows and blankets... it's really neat. There are two floors; on the top floor is one queen sized bed and a small room, like an alcove with two kid sized mattresses and a cute little desk with two wooden chairs. There is also a love seat and a TV with DVD player. We put the kids up there. Then on the lower floor there is a King? queen? sized bed in the main living area and also two additional small bedrooms with a queen bed in each.
Be aware that there is only one bathroom. Because our family had two additional rooms it wasn't a problem but I can see it being a concern for a large group. It worked fine for us at any rate.
The Blue Moon bar is right next door to the family room. It's a rowdy crowd, but noise was no problem for us. I actually stopped over there, drinks are a good price but that's another review altogether.
Just want to say that I really appreciated this property, the owner was very nice. Highly recommend and will definitely do it again!

We spent four days here. The motel is really well located in the town, the room was very clean. There is a bar (Blue Moon) which is located across the street and did get noisy on Friday night into the early hours of the morning. There is not your regular daily room service like making your beds and vacuuming daily. You need to notify the office of what your needs are for your room but they are more than accommodating. We would refer this place to family and friends. We would return. :-)

My good friend and I stayed here on a trip to Lava Hot Springs. I had never stayed overnight in the town before, because none of the hotels looked terribly appealing...then I saw the Alpaca Inn. The room was charming and quite large enough for the two of us. I appreciated that it was decorated, not in a generic motel sort of way, but in a homey, pleasant, comfortable style. The owners were as nice as they could be (we even went and took a look at their little alpaca farm right outside of town - where I had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of having an alpaca spit food on me...very memorable.) A great stay in my favorite quirky town.

Me, my husband, and my 3 yr old decided to go on a last minute weekend getaway so we called last minute on a Friday afternoon to see if they had any rooms and the only one they had was the family suite which they let us have at the price of a smaller room. It was SO nice, clean, quiet, and amazing! They give you a variety of different types of pillows to sleep on, plenty of towels, soaps, bedding, nice comfy couches to sit on, DVD player, the list goes on... They spent a lot of time making it feel as though your at home (which you certainly do!). Check out is at 11 but "they can be flexible" and we are NOT morning people so they were very accommodating and let us check out at 1. We are planning our next trip up there in a few Weeks! Highly recommend this place!
