My wife and I just spent the week end at the Riverside Inn. If you are looking for luxury and a lot of amenities this may not be the place for you. It does have a lot of old charm(built in 1914), very friendly staff, clean rooms. No TV, no phones, no radio, no microwave, no Fridge. Just a good old country charm that makes you feel like one of the family. Nice continental breakfast with serene sights and sounds of the river while sitting out on the balcony. We will be going back.

Old hotel, Buffalo Head on wall, small rooms, small bathrooms or sharing. Beds uncomfortable, air conditioning consists of an open window.

Years ago we used to go here with a Church group and rent the entire place. It was fine for throwing bodies on the floors with sleeping bags/air mattresses and the like. A big party. Kids loved it.

However, if you're looking for something a little more comfortable, this place is not the place to go. This is an "Old" hotel and needs a new makeover. The current owners have tried, . . .to their credit, it's better than before, . . .but it still has a long way to go. The rooms in the basements with hot mineral water are dingy and the pools shallow and uncomfortable.

Duke's, the restaurant downstairs is nothing to write home about. You'd do better in the local cafes on the main street.

Wander through the lobby, sit on the back porch, enjoy the trip back in time, . . .take a few pictures and then stay somewhere else.

Was going to stay at another hotel, until I read the reviews of this one. This hotel ended up being a very good choice. We went at a time were there were only two other couples staying in this hotel. All of the hot pools were available all of the time, never had to reserve one.
The staff was very friendly and put on a very good continental breakfast, you feel as if your staying at a good friends home. Room was clean and they go the extra mile with quilts and pillows. Our room was one of the only ones with a TV. Will stay here again.

We were vary impressed by the architecture and efferts to preserve the look of the past. The staff was polite, attentive and reserved. We felt as if we were back in the 20's. Rooms had no phones or TVs. The only suggestion I would make is to get rid of the TV in the main sitting room.

The restaurant in the celler was excellent and reasonable priced. "WE
SHALL RETURN".

Visited little over a year ago (late '01) and felt like We stepped back in time. Establishment showed the work of loving care in many details. Rooms small and well done. Major benefit was the attention and kindness of the staff and management. This is a gem.
