Established in 1974, The Kneadery combines wholesome fresh food with a rustic Idaho atmosphere. Whether you're headed out for a day of hiking, or spent the morning skiing the slopes, you'll want to fuel up with a wholesome nutritious meal at The Kneadery. All meals start with the freshest ingredients-locally baked organic breads, farm fresh, cage-free eggs, seasonal fruit and top quality meats. From the huge omelets and pancakes, to the fresh salads and burgers, there's something for everyone. Great food is just the beginning at The Kneadery. Service with a smile and the authentic decor complete the package. Owners Duffy and Sheila Witmer have been collecting the Western artwork that fills The Kneadery and The Pioneer Saloon for decades. We were told by several people to go to the Kneadery for a large hearty breakfast...they were not wrong. Since it is slack season in Sun Valley, it was no problem getting seated right away at 9 am. However, when we left around 10, there were people waiting outside. The food was good and plenty of it. I asked the server if I could only have two eggs with breakfast instead of the standard 3. I thought she had muttered something affirmative, but got 3 when the plate arrived. She was curt but efficient. No smiles at all. The coffee they serve was great and she kept us filled. We would definitely eat here again but next time I might ask the server to smile a bit more. It might get her a better tip.

We arrived on a Sunday morning and waded through the crowd at the door. We were advised to expect a twenty minute wait, but ten minutes later we were following the pleasant hostess to our table. We each ordered coffee and an omelette. Mine was named after the founder, apple gouda sausage with spinach. It was wonderful. My husband and son had Denver omlettes and they were equally happy. Total price for breakfast (pre-tip) was $52, not cheap but what we expected in Ketchum. The service was excellent and the food was fresh and tasty. We would definately return.

This is a classic, especially for breakfast in a ski resort, but also a wonderful place to visit at any time of the year. Even though ownership has changed the service and food remain as good, if not better than ever before.

We ate twice at the Kneadery for breakfast. The Eggs Benedict was very good, but the omelet with apple chicken sausage and spinach was to die for! Good service. We went in late August, so there weren't any crowds, but it would have been well worth a wait!

If you're in the Sun Valley area be sure to eat a good breakfast. Ski trips or summer holidays we always make a point of dropping by the always-crowded, always-funky, always-tasty Kneadery. We love the pancakes, omelets and eggs benedict. The coffee is hot, brewed right, and the wait staff keeps the cups full. What's not to love?

Stop in at 260 Leadville Ave and spend a little time there. You'll be doing yourself a favor.
