We stayed here one (short) night in July 2013. Can't say much about the surrounding area, as we really just drove by. The hotel itself was very basic. Room decor and breakfast were simple and plain. On the other hand, the price was good :-)

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel! I hope we get to see you again soon, so we can prove to you that the area and hotel are more than average! I'm glad we were able to accommodate you within your price range, but the hotel and the area have so much more to offer. We hope you can try some of our world class biking, or family friendly skiing.

After driving from Missoula through to Kellogg, just trying to find a hotel with a room, we finally found this hotel. We have never stayed at a Guesthouse Inn before and we were pleasantly surprised. The girl at the front desk, "Jayne" was very helpful. A little hyper maybe, but very nice and accommodating. When we couldn't find her (because we took a wrong exit), I called and she gave directions. When we were pulling up, she was out front to wave us in:) the room was very clean, very quiet, was pet friendly and had comfortable beds. The breakfast was very busy but very good. We will definitely stay here again and will check out other Guesthouse chains during our travels.

We stayed here for four nights while we did some biking in the area. They are right on the Trail of the CdA, so that was convenient. We had a room with a king size bed, so we had space for two bikes in our room. We appreciated the fridge and microwave. The breakfast was adequate although not fancy or extensive. We walked to dinner each evening, one night at Noahs across the road and the other at Moose Creek Grill. The hotel pool, indoors, is a bit on the cool side, but actually perfect for sore muscles. The hot tub has some of the most vigorous jets I have ever seen - felt wonderful.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The staff was wonderful! They even called a local restaurant so they would stay open for us. I will definately stay here again.

Besides being charming they had a lot of nice touches. The shower curtain was tide with a flower. They had tea, coffee, hot cider and hot chocolate option to make . The pool was nice and the staff friendly.

We biked from Harrison to Kellogg and spent the night in Kellogg with a return the next day. It was a little noisy with motorcycles & 70 somethings reunion, but not bad. Folks were friendly and the price was ok for summer. It's a bit of an older hotel, but overall was clean, shower was hot..I'd stay again if I was in Kellogg.

Room Tip: Maybe top floor away from the road...towards the ski hill.

We stayed at the Guest House Inn on our way back to Kingston, Ontario. The staff are exceptionally friendly and make you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in the door. The lobby, eating area and room was exceptionally clean and it appears that a lot of work has been done recently to the hotel to keep it in a modern looking condition.
The hotel is very easy to access from I90 and is within walking distance to the Gondola, restaurants, bike path, grocery store and other activities. There is ample free parking.
Our room had 2 Queen beds, fridge, microwave, TV and was well stocked with tea and coffee. The room was very spacious and again did I mention..... exceptionally clean.
There was a good selection at breakfast and we were very happy that it started at 5:30 am as we've found that most hotels don't start their breakfast until 6 or 6:30.
One suggestion for improvement is the gym equipment. There is a treadmill, stationary bike and an elliptical. The bike and treadmill were a little squeaky but the elliptical was pretty much un useable as it is very wobbly. Definitely need to upgrade the gym equipment.
Overall a good place to stay in a small town.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the ground level and away from the laundry room and breakfast area.

We stopped overnight at the Guesthouse Inn in Kellogg on our way to Harrison, ID to avoid late night driving (See our other reviews).

LOCATION
We liked that the Guesthouse was a few blocks off the interstate = no traffic noise

THE ROOM
The room was wonderful, staff was terrific, and the breakfast was great.

BREAKFAST -
About the breakfast - hot waffles, yogurt, cream cheese and bagels, assorted bread for toast, dry cereals....

My Road-Boss Waffle - (how to make a hotel breakfast last more than 3 hours..)

Pour 1/2 the batter into the waffle iron, pour a cup of bran flakes or raisin bran on top the batter , then add the 2nd 1/2 of the batter - close the iron to cook...
(you have just increased the fiber in the waffle immensely) :)

THEN ...

Top the waffle with peanut butter, cream cheese, yogurt, and of course some hot syrup

ADD a side of eggs and sausage/bacon/ ??? (meat of the day)

(They did not have a sign on a small bar fridge holding the eggs, meat & cheese - had another reviewer not mentioned the meat and eggs in the fridge we would have missed them - )

THis will hold you for 4-5 hours or 250 miles - whichever comes first!!

WE enjoyed the Guesthouse immensely -

NOTE: - No ELEVATOR - it was not a problem for us to access our 2nd floor room - however if you have any difficulty at all with stairs & luggage - please request a ground floor room...

They also provide a luggage cart to move your bags from the car to the room on the 1st floor easier

Room Tip: No elevator to 2nd floor
