“Surprisingly good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2013 via mobile

We visited on 6th September as part of a trip to Yellowstone Park. This restaurant was recommended by one of the staff at Sawtelle. We ate in the saloon as the restaurant was shut - top burgers - one of the best we both had. Good cheery service and a nice environment.

“A life saver stop.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

We stumbled on to this place on our way back from Yellowstone park to Ashton Idaho. After two days in Ashton with horrible dining choices this place was a real prize.

They have a full bar and full menu. We had pizza and it was excellent.

The steaks and prime rib dinner we watched go by looked great, especially for the prices we saw on the menu.

The staff was friendly and made sure we were taken care of.

A huge wind/rain storm came through just before we were ready to hit the road on our Harley. As we were getting our gear on the bar tender came up and laid a bunch of towels on the bar for me to dry off my bike. Very thoughtful!

“Food too die for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Stayed at Ponds Lodge. Walked over to the lodge to get some supper was greeted right away by a very pleasant young lady. She brought us some cocktails took our order and within minutes our dinners were served. Wow who would of expected what happened next. We looked at our plates and there in front of us was a 5 star meal something Gordon Ramsey would serve in one of his restaurants.
Wow who would of guessed they had a young trained chief from one of the best culinary schools in the country cooking there at a restaurant in a lodge in the woods away from a major city. I know all this's because we demanded too meet him and later one of the owners who confirmed his story. What a place hat a meal.
I recommend if you travel through Idaho on highway 20 stop on Island Park find Ponds Lodge and experience this young chiefs

“Good food/fun atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013

My mother-in-law had a cabin near here, and this was where she always took us out to eat. The food is good American fare and done well -- burgers, steaks, fish, fries. The place is decorated with a lot of Americana and flags and old highway signs -- it's kind of retro and would be 50's/vacationland-ish if it weren't for the pictures of Ronald Reagan! We enjoy it here -- I hope you do, too!

“Always EXCELLENT”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

We've been here many times for both lunch and dinner. It doesn't open until 11:30 so no early lunch or breakfast. The servers are very nice and the food is excellent. Homemade soups, beautifully garnished salads with homemade dressing. The Black and Blue Burger is a specialty and really good. The prime rib is excellent but get there early as they often sell out, it's only available on Friday and Saturday night. The chicken fried steak is fantastic. This is our #1 choice of restaurants in the Island Park area. Off Hwy 20, turn at the Phillips 66 station and go about 1/2 mile down the road.
