“Beautiful Views & Outside Patio Area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

This is a beautiful property. I stayed on the river side and had a room with a balcony. Fantastic views at night. They have an outside patio area that is great! You can get refreshments and sit near the river, which is very relaxing after a long drive or flight. Staff is very helpful, and rooms are what you would expect at this hotel chain. Very comfortable beds and the amenities you come to expect. The star attraction is the outside patio area, and the river view rooms.

We loved the location by the river, had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant close to the Hilton, followed by a great walk to view the Falls and the park.

Our room was standard motel 6. It was clean and had everything we needed but there was cookie-cutter boring. The view was to the front of the hotel - not the river. There was no balcony. We stayed at a Marriott the night before where the room was much nicer and we got a hot free breakfast. This hilton was the only hotel we stayed at that did not offer some sort of breakfast.

The lobby was lovely. The patio by the river might have been great but there was a wedding so we didn't get to sit outside.

I would stay here again just for the location.

Stayed over here for one night. I am a Hilton Diamond member and was treated very well. Excellent staff and solid, comfortable rooms. The hotel is on the Snake River and if you're a bicyclist, there's a nice paved path that is right outside the door that runs about 5 miles up and down the river. You can also use this path to walk to a few restaurants and bars along the river. Makes it very convenient and safe. I would certainly stay here again. I had no problems.

Room Tip: Ask ahead of time for a room on the Snake River side.

My family and I  were on a long trip from our home town Montreal  Canada. Our trip was planned last spring and all hotels were booked in advanced.
An unfortunate change of plans made us have to cancel the second night we had booked at the nicely appointed Garden Inn. We mentionned this the minute we arrived at 11 pm the first night. The staff told us to address the problem in the morning to the Hotel Manager.
So we did. We asked to see the manager (Larry) at the reception the next morning. He did not come out of his office.
The clerk told us to call Hilton CS because it was pre paid and there was nothing they could do. After being on hold for fifteen minutes, Hilton CS said that it was in the hands of the hotel manager.
So we asked again to see the hotel manager. But again Larry stayed in his office instead of coming to address us personnaly. He instructed his clerk to tell us it was against their policy to refund the prepaid payment. Nice.
Hotels put so much energy to make our stay enjoyable, fix us a nice clean hotel, with good food,  comfortable beds and the rest. They try really hard, and much effort and money is spent.
In my opinion it is regrettable that we left this nice hotel deceived and sour because no effort was attempted by Larry to find an arrangement.
Yet, every  new book on customer services on the market strongly encourage business owners and managers to do the exact opposite: do all you can to meet the needs of customers and find an arrangement. We lost 130$ today, but Garden Inn lost a precious customer who in turn gave them a bad review on Trip Advisor. Too bad.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our property. I am sorry that your plans changed and you had to go home early. In looking at your reservation we notice that it was one of the Advanced Puchase Non -Refundable rate. Here are a few terms and conditions that apply when booking this rate:

Full payments are required at the time of reservation. Credit cards are charged the time of booking. No Refunds or credis will be given for early departure, cancellations or no shows.

Our Front Desk Manager Alexis came and talked to both Larry and I about this and we follow the terms and conditions of the program as it is implemented by Hilton.

If you would like to discuss this a little further please feel free to call me on my cell phone at 208.339.7222

A Great Room With a View of the Snake River! We had reservations for a one-night stop in Idaho Falls, and we're very glad we chose the Hilton Garden Inn. We had a third floor King Studio Room with a balcony overlooking the Snake River. The balcony had two chairs and a table, so later that evening we watched the great view of the river streaming by. The room had a large sitting area with a sofa and easy chair as well as a separate desk and ergonomic desk chair. Nice. There was also a restaurant and a morning breakfast buffet that was very nicely done. Great hotel with a view. It's a wise choice to stop here.

This is still a great property. The rooms are clean, well appointed and lovely. The hotel is on a greenbelt, and has a wonderful patio to enjoy some great scenery. The place is spotlessly clean and the workout room is great. I would absolutely stay here again and still think this is the best place to stay in the area. However, the service is slipping.

We arrived at the bar at 9:30 pm and asked for a beer. We were promptly told even though there were folks eating at the bar and a bartender that the bar was closed. However, he was willing to unlock the bar if we "didn't want too much." We wanted a beer. He was okay with that, that cabinet was still open. Maybe he should have waited to see what we wanted before sounding like such a jerk? Next day at breakfast...I wanted one egg, a little cheese, one slice of bacon, an English muffin and nothing else. Actual breakfast: two eggs, swimming in cheese, a half of a pig, tons of potatoes and charged full price not a la carte. Next day I tried the same thing..I specifically said absolutely no potatoes. I do not want one single potato on my plate. Well....one egg, swimming in cheese, half of a pig, tons of potatoes and charged full price. Oh well. After seeing what I was served, I made an effort to go back to the buffet grab some fruit, yogurt, etc. If I am going to be charged full price, I at least will have orange juice.

Next time, I will head to a very nearby McDonalds. The service was exceedingly slow as well. My takeaway was they don't really care what their customers want and they don't understand that folks on busines are under time constraints.

It might be that my thoughts on an otherwise wonderful hotel are being tainted by the folks in the restaurant and that might not be fair.

We stopped here on a road trip from Salt Lake City to Yellowstone. Very nice hotel with clean rooms. Very convenient with an easy walk to restaurants down the street, the river, and the "falls." My family was pleased with the stay.
