The Snakebite is one of our favorite lunch spots in downtown Idaho Falls. Lunch menu offers a nice array of sandwiches from traditional burgers to grilled wild salmon, and a lot of choices in between. We have never been disappointed with the preparation and presentation of the food.
They try to use local and natural ingredients to a large degree, but not as consistently as they could. With all the grass-fed beef available in ID, I wish they would switch to a local grass fed product. Of course, they can still make conventional beef taste pretty good, but not quite as good as it could be.
Snakebite has a cozy feel to us. Some might feel cramped as the table space is not huge, but the feeling among the clientele is usually pretty friendly so it still feels comfortable. They usually have some local microbrews on tap so that also helps.
The only complaint we can make is sometimes the service is a little too efficient, professional, and not at all warm. They are usually pretty busy and the servers tend to be abrupt. We go there to enjoy slow food. Maybe the staff should pause to breath the air and smell the roses once in a while.
