Plan to take your time driving to Idaho City and take in the beautiful, breathtaking scenery. Remember to pull over, roll down your car window and smell the lovely fragrance along the way. Idaho City is rustic and full of nostalgia and even though it was drizzling, you could feel yourself pulled back in time..........the cemetery was blocked with road construction and the museum was closed but we weren't disappointed. The air was crisp and fall was certainly in the air. What a unique way to escape from the frantic pace of the city. Lunch was at Trudy's Kitchen and the waitress was very efficient and worked hard to please us. Hamburgers were delicious, especially the patty melt on rye. The huckleberry cheese cake was a favorite, in addition to french dip beef sandwich. The Au ju was freshly made, and the beef was tender/full of flavor. A wonderful step back in time for a rainy day! We hope to return in the high season.
