I booked a double room for Byron Laguna inn for one night while visiting Venice. We arrived at Byron Laguna inn, but was sent to a different hotel (Byron Hotel) 300 meters down the road instead.
Unfortunately, our stay at the Byron Hotel was not a pleasant one. Upon checking-in, the concierge as reasonably friendly and polite until he told us that he had received two bookings from us for the same evening (somehow booked 9 days apart) This was not his fault as we booked our Hotel initially through Venere.com. but upon telling him that we had only made one booking he became quite rude and began to hurry us along to sign both of the documents for each room, without even listening to what it was that we had to say nor trying to rectify the situation whatsoever. All he seemed to care about at the time was the fact that he had received two orders and that was that. Not the appropriate service you are looking for from a Hotel concierge regardless of price nor star-rating.
After being treated like this all we really wanted to do was leave. It was upsetting and not at all accepted.
I guess the room was okay for the price we paid, but not for double the price which we ended up paying for the one room (since we according to the concierge had booked two rooms). Perhaps they should spend some money on paint for the walls and soap for the guests though.
