“A nice, relaxing walk if you're staying on Lido Island.”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

We took a walk along the beach after checking in to our hotel (afternoon in September). The water was too cold of course for swimming, but the beach was very peaceful and relaxing. It provides a beautiful view of the Adriatic as well as nice sea shells to collect.

“Perfect for kids”
Reviewed February 7, 2014

Venice is a tough trip with 2 small children, but a day at the beach is always a hit. The beach was clean and we practically had it to ourselves. Too cold to swim but perfect to burn off some toddler energy.

“Faded charm”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

Walking the strand of Lido at the end of January may not be to everyone's liking but it provides a wonderful opportunity to scan the Adriatic, count the ships and collect shells, probably some of the loveliest free souvenirs of Venice one can find.Better to have the beach almost to oneself in winter than struggle to find a place to sunbathe in the summer perhaps? Some of the mid-twentieth century architecture has not stood the test of time and the grand 'fin de siecle' buildings of the central strip appear lacklustre now, but with a bit of imagination you can imagine how the rich and famous spent their time. It can come as a shock to have to cross roads with buses and cars on them (after the gondolas and motorboats of Venice's main island) but at least the drivers are solicitous of pedestrians and rigorously give way to them at crossings. Hot chocolate at an ostaria or caffe is a very pleasant way to watch the world go by; there is still some hint of 'chic' here.

Clean and easy to find, really nice beach. Our hotel was opposite the beach so fortunate to walk across the road to get to!
