Walking along the Lido beach is always a pleasure. I love it in the Winter. The grand and splendid beachfront hotels and beach huts (which are al closed off), evoke a spirit of a glamorous age gone by. The beach is clean and empty at this time of year. There are lots of cafes and restaurants within striking distance down side streets for hot chocolates etc, once off the beach. If you like shells or have small children then this is great place to collect them (shells not small children). I was also at the Lido in May which was busier but nowhere like as busy as I imagine it would be in the height of the summer. Definitely worth a visit to escape the general Venice madness.
