Fantastic beach with only Italians fleeing touristy Venice in the heat. The beach has both paid and free sections with cozy beach bars.

The free beach was nice and clean.
Plenty of space to lay down you towel and catch some sun.

There are some sunbeds and umbrellas available to hire if you wish and lockers and toilets also available at a cost.

There are a couple of place to eat on the beach front and an ice cream place.

Only thing to be weary of is the massive number of people going round trying to sell you towels, sunglasses etc - it can get quite annoying!!

Loved the beach, environment, atmosphere, people, ice cream and the food. There are many places for dinning out. You don not have to restrict yourself to the hotel.

Lido Beach was worth the long ride on the water taxi. (Last stop to be exact) The sand and surf was clean and inviting. The water was lovely. There are a few snack shops located at the main entrance where you can get a pretty decent meal. Bathroom use is not free and at this time cost 1 euro (I found a free one at a local hotel, hey, Euros add up after a while!) Restaurants line the main street if you prefer a dinner in the evening. Some modest shopping is also available. A great place to visit, especially if you have young children.

I really enjoyed a very different side to Venice...for a day I spent roaming Lido. Spent a leisurely few hours at the Exelsior overlooking the beach, sipping icy white wine, dipping in the calm Adriatic on a scorching day in June. We wandered the palm lined streets, and lanes gazing at the old mansions of the rich and famous of bygone days, St Nicholas' monastery....
