Le Boulevard Hotel
Ranked #5 of 33 Hotels in Lido di Venezia
Reviewed March 17, 2013 via mobile

This was bought for us as a Christmas/birthday present, but I know it was booked through Broadway Travel Via Travelzoo.

We picked up our return water airport bus as well as our 3 day water bus ticket to go around Venice outside the arrivals gate. It was easy enough and meant we didn't have to worry about trying to get tickets elsewhere. I had planned for us to have a busy afternoon but hadn't factored in that the boat would take about 45mins to get to the Lido.

Location of the hotel is really good, its easy to find and obly about 10mins walk from the boat station and for the summer months about a 10/15min walk to the beach.

Hotel was OK. Rooms and bathroom clean. They seemed to have the heating on full, which meant that everything was a bit close and uncomfortable. We had a large room. There is a mini bar in the room so perfect if you want to stop off at the supermarket and get snacks etc. shame that there wasn't any tea/coffee facilities and as others have said shame the bar was shut.

What let the hotel down was the breakfast. We are seasoned travellers with my husband away almost on a weekly basis across Europe and this had to be the worst breakfast we have ever had.

If we were just marking the hotel on its own we would have given it a 4 star.

Would we return? Maybe if it was a good deal, however i think there are possibly better hotels.

Would we recommend? again if it was a good deal.

However on reflection we enjoyed the contrast between the lido ans venice, and i think it made venice even better because of it.

Definately recommend downloading Tripadvisor City App Venice. Found lots of lovely places because of it, best of all you don't need data roaming on. Please message me if you want our itinerary.

Got a good deal for 4 nights in Venice staying at this hotel. Well placed on the main street of the Lido 5 Minutes from the Vaporetti Landing stage. Quiet, comfortable, hotel with good helpful staff; Good sized room such that one did not trip over one another. Breakfast OK, but it could be improved with a larger room. It is rather cramped and the items are not easy to get at. Quality could be improved as well.

I stayed in the hotel for 3 days.
The reception service was great. The room is not quite spacious and the air conditioning is not working effectively. The bed is very comfortable. However, the wall is a little bit thin, I could hear the "noisy" sound from next door.
The breakfast is good value.
Overall, that's a nice stay experience. I'll consider to come back to this hotel if I ever visit Venice again.

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a ridiculously cheap package to Venice with Broadway Travel through Travelzoo. The costs, including flights, was just over £150 each, so I wasn't expecting the Ritz. As previous reviews state, the hotel is in need of a refit, the decor is 'interesting', lots of colours and Draylon. The bed was comfy, but the room was really hot, even with the large window open at night. Also, the shower was dangerous - there was no thermostat fitted so having just got the temperature right, it would suddenly go freezing cold, or worse, boiling hot. The shower cubicle was so small it was impossible to get out of the way without bursting out the doors, and it was also tricky not to move the single lever that controlled the flow and temperature due to the confined space. My husband actually burnt his arm, and when we asked someone in reception if they could look at the shower, they said OK, but the temperature change was probably down to someone in an adjacent room using the shower of flushing the loo!! Breakfasts were plentiful, but the coffee from a vending machine was dire, so best go for tea or pop out to one of the numerous local cafes. All in all though, for the money, it was very good value, but the 4* rating is way, way too generous.

Room Tip: Be careful in the showers unless there is a thermostat fitted. Wasn't in room 134.

Three night break booked through Broadway Travel. First trip to Venice so first trip to Lido. Off the water bus & two minute walk to hotel. Prompt service at Reception and a room on the 1st floor. Room European size but very hot. No kettle. Bathroom good with plenty of towels. 1st night had awful night sleep owing to heat in the room. My husband complained & we were moved to a fantastic room with balcony, double the size & a big bathroom. Breakfast ok, plenty of food and staff helpful.
Simone & Roberto on Reception doing a fantastic job, nothing too much trouble. Thanks guys. Would go back again with out a doubt. Oh Supermarket right next door which is helpful.
Excellent value.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in Lido di Venezia. We booked on a great deal through Broadway Travel. At first I thought it would be a cheap & cheerful hotel as the deal was so good. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see a lively area with good shops and cafe's & smack dab in the middle Le Boulevard Hotel. it's only a 20 minute water bus ride from St Marks & the hotel is only a 3 minute walk from the water bus stop! The staff were friendly & very helpful. Our room was quite hot - reception said that the heating was timed & would go off later. When we returned & retired for the evening the room was still very hot, a radiator in the bathroom was on & could not be turned off. I complained the next morning as we had a tough time sleeping with the heat. Simone on the desk was very understanding, we left our cases packed in our rooms and upon our return in the afternoon we had moved to another room on the same floor. This room was much better as its radiator could be turned off, so we could sleep at room temperature. It was on the front of the Hotel with a balcony. Someone else on here has mentioned noise, but I didn't notice any noise - in fact Lido is very tranquil. So our hats are off to Simone & Roberto on the desk!! Breakfast was more than adequate & any questions on things to do were answered well by the afore mentioned lads on the desk.
in summary - for a hotel in this price range, Le Boulevard Hotel is more than recommended. Just about to write a review on Lido now - if I ever go back to Venice I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If your on the first floor try & get an external walled room, internal room that we had at first...
