Hotel is ideally located near to the water bus stops and the main street in Lido. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had an upgraded room which we paid extra for and this gave us a small balcony with nice views over to St Marks Square. The bedroom was large, clean and the room also had a seperate sitting area with 2 sofas and tv. The room was lacking Tea/Coffee making facilities which any 4 star hotel should have these days.
Breakfast was included however this wasn't great, we arrived for breakfast on both mornings around 0930 and there wasn't much left of anything. Very little fruit, no choice of yoguts and no choice of bread. Not good if it says breakfast is served until 1030 you would expect the food to be replenshed. The service in the breakfast room wasn't good either we had to set our own table by getting plates/cups etc from the counters as the tables hadn't been cleared and set up again from people before us. We weren't appraoched by the waiter to see if we wanted tea/coffee I had to go and ask him.
Overall the hotel is of good standard and if I were to ever come to Venice again I would definitely stay here for the location rather than a hotel actually on Venice.
I like reviews that tell me something helpful, so : -
Go to breakfast early if you want a choice of fruit / bread etc
Take a travel kettle if you want a hot drink in your room
Go to the supermarket on the main street in Lido to buy your cold drinks and snacks for the day, a large bottle of iced tea was 0.69 cents rather than 2 euros for a small bottle at the kiosks.
Take lots of money Venice is very expensive!

Villa Laguna exceeded our expectations. It is first class all the way. The staff is friendly and helpful. Spectacular views of Venice and right on the water. The location couldn't be better, just steps from the water taxi. The restaurant has large windows that open up right onto the water. Villa Laguna is a place we will go back to and highly recommend to others.

I wouldn't want to be anywhere else in Venice, this hotel is in a perfect location, where we can get lots of fresh air, great view of hectic St.Marco square(which is only 10 minutes away by water bus, the station is just a minute walk from the hotel.. very convenience!!).. As we're here during the festival time, there is no space to walk on saturday, I have booked a restaurant in San Marco area, but my parents refused to walk any further because they were scare that they might caught some flu, or too much people would drive them mental or something... so we have decided to spend the rest of the day in Lido, and we have discovered some nice places to eat, yess! that includes great geloto!! In the morning we took the complimentary boat to Murano, to see the glass master at work, the boat made me feel like a superstar!! it was so beautiful! The services at Hotel Vila Laguna is so nice that this is the reason why I have actually signed up to write a review!! We had such a great time here, the room is very large, the sofa-bed I have slept in was very comfortable!!! the welcome dinner was excellent ! my dad have picked a great bottle of red wine to go with it !! I am so happy that we have picked this hotel!! would love to come back to Venice again... but maybe not at festival time!!

Trip Advisor comments were great a right on. This is a cozy (not many rooms), but great place. It is just minutes away from St Mark's Square and the rest of Venice. Lido is a nice get away, quiet!
It is just 100 yards from where you get off the ACTV boat (which runs to Venice about every 5 minutes).
First-timers to Venice (!!!): Use the ACTV boats to/from Venice, but the Alilaguna line boats go to/from the airport; 2 different companies!!!
An advisor comment lead us to request the Double Suite which was huge (especially by European standards); would also highly recommend.
One other note: Get your reservations early; many of these great finds are small and do not have alot of rooms.
