I almost always stay on the Lido because the value is so much better there. The Edera was a compromise from my normal system for choosing but we were very happy with the choice. The room was comfortable and well equipped as small European hotels go (no flat screen tvs and no English programming, but that's fine with us). Breakfast was simple but good and adequate. The service was excellent. Desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. WiFi was good and my 24 hour purchase actually provided 24 hours of connection time which was a pleasant surprise.

This was a great hotel. The price was excellent, the room was quaint, and nicely decorated. We had our own balcony with a bistro set. The bathroom was a bit small but very clean. The hairdryer was very old but it worked. The breakfast was great for being included. There was fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, tea, cereal, cheeses, cold cuts and 3-4 hot items. The location was great as it was a 5 minute walk from the vaporetto stop. There was a computer in the main lobby for customer use (for a fee), but you were allowed to print at no cost which was a blessing for us as we needed to print 3 sets of boarding passes. The fee was for 24 hours of use, not continuous and covered wifi for our tablet and use of their computer. The woman at the front desk was not friendly at all, the the gentleman on the afternoon shift could not do enough for you. We bought ingredients for a light dinner and asked for plates and cutlery from the breakfast bar which was no problem at all. I would definitely stay here again.

We do travel a lot, but our last trip to Venice was absolutely awesome so I’ve decided to write a public review.
Villa Edera is a perfect choice! It’s very cozy, beautiful and perfectly located hotel (quite green street, 3 minutes’ walk from the central Via Santa Maria Elisabetta, 15-20 minutes’ walk + water-bus “vaporetto” from San-Marco Sq., 10 minutes’ walk to the beach)
hotel’s web-site info (even pictures!) and reality completely matches
friendly English-speaking personnel
very tidy (hotel and room itself, both),
fine furniture (venetian style, light colours) and murano-glass chandelier
big nice tidy bathroom with a window (!) (everything is in order)
air-conditioner is in order
breakfast: served in the green cozy beautiful courtyard, our rating is 7 out of 10 –plentiful and various, but it’s better to show up before 9.30 am otherwise there will not be much food left over, and coffee - could be better.
useful info for smokers: it’s ok if you give yourself to this bad habit in the courtyard.
NB: reception working hours are from 8am till 8pm (it’s important if you plan a late arrival and check-in, so it’d be better if you ask the hotel manager for details before booking)
We are very grateful to the hotel owner – he’s doing a really good job – and the hotel personnel altogether for our perfect stay and pleasant memories.
A few words about planning our trip to Venice:
imho, the best place to stay in the summer is Lido, not a Venice center (because it’s quiet, cozy and not as crowded as Venice itself). Staying on the island can add a beach-time note to your sightseeing travel. Besides you can really feel Venetian life-style by using water-bus every time you move from the island to the center – the distance is short, but the way of travelling is non-traditional.
Getting to/ from the airport: there’re 3 ways at least: public transport (Alilaguna – straight from/ to the airport or combination of water-bas + bus), taxi and shared taxi. The last way is really great! It’s most comfortable, quick and attractive and not as expensive as ordinary taxi is.

We booked through Booking.com and got a very reasonable rate for last minute. B&B at this time of year (early August). The hotel is only a few hundred metres from the Vaperetto (15 minute ferry to St. Marks square Venice) & Alilaguna water bus stops (50 minutes to the airport) and about a 5 minute walk to the public beach.
The hotel itself was easy to find in a quiet backstreet about 100 metres from the main thoughrfare on the Lido. The room was clean anid had air conditioning (always a bonus in August) and also had a large balcony where you could sit & relax in the evening after a gruelling day laid on the beach (note :only rooms on the first floor had a balcony)
Good variety of food for breakfast, the fresh fruit is a nice touch.
Only one minor moan, the decor could do with sprucing up, I appreciate it's tradtional venetian but our room reminded us of scenes from the 'Sound of music', we even had a chandellier above our bed !, don't let that put you off staying here though, the balcony and location more than made up for that.

For more info see the hotels web site :- www.hotelvillaedera.com/en

Room Tip: If you want a balcony ask for a room on the first floor.

Stayed at the hotel villa edera may 2012, it's a perfect location for a trip to Venice, Its located 50 metres from Vaperetto station, The staff were helpful and friendly. The room itself 22 was a little small but perfectly fine, and cleaned daily, fresh towels etc. My main complaint about the hotel was the level of noise in the morning. Rooms 21 22 and 23 are right Longside the kitchen, and you will be awake from 7am. The noise is quite unbearable. The hotel owners either needs to stop using these rooms for guests or sound proof them properly.

This hotel's location was perfect; a 10minute water bus to the center of Venice, and a small distance from Burano and Murano which are both beautiful islands well-worth a visit.

Lowcostholidays.com helped us out by finding this hotel last minute, the hotel is surrounded by nice (decently priced) local bars and restaurants that don't feel touristy at all. The hotel staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. Nothing extravagant but for the price and convenience it was perfect.

Despite booking a hotel room and arriving at 3:50pm, I was unable to enter the locked hotel gates. Despite pressing the buzzer and calling the hotel multiple times, there was no answer. I could see inside that there was no-one at reception, and clearly no-one was monitoring their phone lines. I waited for over an hour, and after this booked another hotel. When I finally got in touch with Villa Edera, they were unwilling to cover any of the costs incurred in making such a late hotel booking. They were also quite rude and failed to appreciate the amount of time they had cost us between waiting for them + finding new accommodation, particularly given the limited time we had in Venice.

I recommend not staying here, especially in winter, as the property is clearly not a priority for the owners. The front desk is also definitely NOT attended 24 hours as advised on booking.com - it was unattended the whole time I was waiting and even when I returned at 8pm I could only talk to someone via the phone.
