“Great choice for wrapping up a cruise vacation”
Reviewed June 19, 2013 via mobile

This was a "risk" booking for us that turned out great. We had been on a 12 night mediterranean cruise and thought a couple of nights on the beach would be a great ending and it was. We stumbled a little bit with bus and waterbus connections but once we figured it out it was very easy. We had breakfast every day and it was more than adequate - eggs, stromboli, meats and cheese, stuffed and plain croissants and terrific juices and coffee. We did have the wheerchair acccessible room and shower so my husband fooded the bathroom the first night. After that we managed it OK, but wouldn't be my first choice for a room. We ate dinner there two nights and enjooyed the food and service very much.

Stayed 10th - 13th June 2013. Nice clean accomodation, clean room with plenty of space. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had free towels for the beach and bikes to ride for 2 hours. Breakfast was included in the price and was adequate. Lovely location across the road from the beach. Very good value for money. Only critisism is that the hotel bar closed too early in the evening.

Venezia 2000 is situated at the end of a boulevard. The street side overlooks the sea. From the sun terrace on the roof of the hotel you can see Venice. The room is clean, the walls are thin so you can here the other rooms, the bed is quite spacious by Italian standards and it is comfortable. There's a closet for your clothes and a tiny desk. The bath has a shower which is not higher than your thigh. There's no adjusting it, but holding it in your hand. The room has TV, air conditioning, a blow dryer, a safe, internet acces, a phone, and the bed is made daily. The hotel's restaurant is decent and the staff works hard and long. There's wifi in the lounge and a large TV to watch the occasional soccer match together.

The hotel is easily accessible by bus, which stops outside the hotel. The bus service connects with the ferry service that connects the island of Lido to Venice. The bus ride takes five minutes and runs three times an hour. The boat takes five minutes to Venice and sails very frequent. To San Marco Square takes about fifteen minutes from Lido. A car ferry goes less often and leaves from a different place. In May, the hotel is very quiet as wel is the boulevard.

Room Tip: South side has sea view. The lounge has wifi. But if you want internet on your room, be sure to bri...

Perfect hotel in a perfect location, it was so lovely to get away from the hustle and bustle and stay on the Lido.
Hotel was clean, and just what we expected / wanted. Breakfast was lovely, with a good selection of food and it was more than just continental, it also including scrambled eggs and sausages.
Happy hour at 6.30pm with a glass of prosecco for €2 (only €2.50 normally) prices were so reasonable as you were on the Lido away from the crowds.
The roof top terrace was an added bonus for when the sun was shining, although the water in the jaccuzzi was cold.
Hotel was a 15 min walk from ferry station.
Very pleased with our stay.

Stayed here for 10 nights as a base for touring Venice and the islands. Used a ?50 7-day ferry and bus pass for unlimited travel (even included front seats on ACTV #1 along the Grande Canal). We were given room 205 which consisted of 2 spacious rooms & shower/toilet room. Shower was always hot and lots of pressure. Room safe, hair drier, TV & 2 AC units included. Wireless included but patchy in room. Purchased a local SIM for ?20 - 1 month 1GB data and calls to UK. Room was very clean & well maintained. Breakfasts very good with a wide choice - continental with cool eggs, local sausages & occasional bacon - don't expect a good Scottish fry-up. Would have been nice to have a kettle in the room. Overall highly recommended.

The hotel is in a great area in the quiet island Lido, and it only takes a 15-20 min boat trip to arrive in Venice and the boats run all night and day. Room was good, although the shower curtain didn't keep the water in from the shower, so it would basically flood the entire bathroom.

Saw this hotel as part of a Groupon voucher deal but did it cheaper by booking from the Trip Advisor link and finding our own flights to suit.
There is a lot to recommend this place but with some reservations. We liked the Lido a lot; it has a decent beach (weather was good during a 3/4 day stay), some ok restaurants and quite a laid back feel compared to Venice itself.
You do have a 10-15 minute walk (depending on your pace) to the Vaporetto stop (lovely 15 minute ride to St Marks Sq) but it's a pleasant, fairly quiet area and the beach is a 3 minute walk away. There is a bus service if exercise is not on the agenda!
Our room was quite nice (210) towards the rear of the building with a very limited view but was relatively quiet which was what we had requested. It was fairly spacious with a large, comfortable bed and furnished in a faux deco style. The bathroom was also a good size with a good shower and a great illuminated shaving mirror. There is no tea/coffee facility but we took a travel kettle and there is a local Co-op for milk, tea, buiscuits etc - this was a real boon after a long day in Venice!

Now the down side; the build quality of the place is obviously not great. You hear plumbing noises and the extractor fan from adjacent bathrooms - annoying at 6am! There is also a pretty loud machine at the front corner which probably drives the air-con units - this could be a problem if your room was in this vicinity. As others have mentioned, there is a Street bar opposite the front of the hotel which plays loud music into the early hours at the weekend which may bother those who have paid extra for a sea view!
As for the breakfast just don't expect too much; hot options are very limited with frankfurter sausage or bacon and rather "stiff" scrambled egg. There are cold meats, sliced cheese, sweet croissant, limited fruit salad, yoghurt, and cereals and sometimes quite nice fresh bread (it can run out and not get replaced!) The infamous coffee machine is truly awful and the hot water isn't hot enough for decent tea. You can pay extra for a better quality coffee over the bar (which is probably the intention!)
The service is also mixed; reception staff were fairly efficient for us and happy to help with info. We also left our luggage on our final day after checking out as we had a late flight - they were very obliging. In the dining room however it was a different story - you get the impression that they can't wait for you to leave at breakfast time and are generally a bit surly. One day we finished our fruit/muesli and got up to get eggs, bread etc and returned 2 minutes later to find our table completely cleared including our personal possessions! Over 3 mornings the vibe wasn't great in there - if the weather is good you can sit out on a terrace and get away from the pervading bad mood! Could do better!
On the whole, a decent budget hotel for Venice - all the basics are good and you get a beach!
