“What an old world gem!”
Reviewed November 23, 2013

This unassuming hotel on the waterfront in Lido is elegant and full of old world charm. Yet, despite being reminiscent of another era, the internet connection is great, the amenities good, the staff attentive and helpful, and the restaurant superior. Breakfast is bountiful, but the dinner was extraordinary - as good as any great restaurant in Venice proper, at a fraction of the price.

And went off season, November…
Found this place, basically due to its price. It was the first time I visited Lido and this hotel, however,I am likely to go back.
I had a great room on the second floor with a view over the water to Venice. Nice. Only, there was a bit of wind and I had some trouble fixing the wooden window covers so they did not clapper..

Reception staff was nice, breakfast great. Simple cold breakfast with a nice variety…

Location: the view is great, they are close to the car ferry, but something like 1 km from the vaporetti and the Gran Viale. However there is a bus stopping almost in front of the hotel…

This came as an unexpected surprise. Very quite but after the hussle and bussle of Venice and all it's glorious sights this was a blessed relief. The staff were helpful spoke excellent English and answered every question with clarity.
Knowing bus times boat times and other details that make it a smooth operation to get to the heart of Venice. Rooms are adequate Wii fii rubbish in the room but great in reception and free. BBC world on the Telly. Breakfast is what you would expect for a hotel of this standard. All in all great view across the lagoon and the sight of St Marks in the distance made this a memorable stay in a nice hotel with nice people.

I had booked this hotel with my BW reward points. I was skeptical about my stay after reading the recent reviews. However, it was a pleasant surprise. I got a remodeled 2 room Villa for my 1 night stay. Rooms were elegant and on the seafront overlooking the main Venice Ireland. Though its not a beach, one can sit on the sea shore in peace and enjoy the serenity.

Coming back to the hotel, the staff were courteous and welcoming, the breakfast was okay and the stay was enjoyable. We wished we had more than just a night here. If you get a chance, please plan at least a couple of nights here. Lido is peaceful and the hotel is lovely. Only drawback is that, you need to take a 7Euro ride from the main station to get to the hotel which seems a bit expensive if you are travelling with family. Then, I guess its worth it.

Room Tip: We stayed at the back side of the hotel which has wooden villa type of accommodation and really love...

We have travelled extensively throughout Europe. This hotel did not meet expectations. The staff other than the housekeeping staff were not friendly. Other than the 400 year old hotel we stayed at in Rome these were the worst beds we have ever slept in. If you need to check email or work there are no comfortable chairs and the internet is extremely weak. The rooms were clean but the bar and patio were in poor condition. The breakfast was fine absolutely nothing memorable about it. At check out they inform you of the extra charges for the second person. Under no circumstances would I ever stay there again.

We stayed here with a tour group in October 2013. The staff was very friendly but the wait time to get into our room was over an hour. We had a triple room and it was very cramped. Hardly any room for our suitcases. We stayed in the annex and had a beautiful balcony. We also had one room with a toilet/sink and another with a shower/sink which was great for us. Location was about a mile from the main Lido water taxi station and the downtown area. Charter boats came right to the front of the hotel. Cute, quaint, but cramped.

This hotel is a very elegant and on the seafront overlooking the main Venice Ireland. You should get a weekly ticket for the boats to visit Venice island and also the surrounding islands and cemetery. Whilst we were there we sat in the garden having a drink whilst a cruise ship went past all lit up. You need to make sure that you get a room in the main building rather than the annexe at the back which is much more modern. Still very nice though!

Room Tip: In the main building overlooking the lagoon!
