A favorite of mine and a very Venetian dish "sweet and sour" sardines. Sounds dreadful when you think of the slimy creatures in a can, but fresh sardines prepared in a very traditional sweet onion and sour marinade are delicious. Tratoria Andri has perfected this dish. The pasta Bolognese was rather disapointing this time...delicate perfectly cooked pasta but the Ragu was lacking in flavor. Arestaurant well worth seeking out for a great dining experience.
I suggest making reservations as they are always very busy.

We found this restaurant on TripAdvisor originally and thought we'd give it a shot - glad we took the guidance! The food was excellent - we had boccala, salmon, sole, and the mussel pasta. Everything was cooked well, and the polenta sides were good. There were some small portions of the boccala dish that weren't perfect, but in general, we enjoyed the experience. We got in a little early and the restaurant was empty, but by the time we left, it was packed. It's worth noting that most of the people were dressed in a little more upscale fashion. It's in a great location off the beaten path at the lido.

Part of the experience is finding the restaraunt. Traversing a few small bridges and a quiet road, you eventually stumble across this unassuming joint.

The owner greeted us and we saw a lot of locals with their dogs in tow sitting down enjoying their well cooked seafood and pasta.

We took the house red large carafe which was good and seemed to go on forever. For our meal we chose the black ink squid and polenta, which looks stomach churning but remarkably tasty. The fried mixed seafood platter was pretty drab I felt it lacking a sauce. We had the sardine and polenta starter which was like those herring s you get in a jar, so may not appeal to the wider audience.

Desert was really good (chocolate cake)and the price was I felt in line with the standard of the restaraunt.

70 euros for 2 and we had coffee and water served in beautiful Murano jugs on top of every thing else.

Go visit for a troublefee safe dining option in the Lido. Which in my humble opinion is the best area to stay in Venice.

Wonderful meal great service. Superb decoration - modern art. Spotless. Excellent menu and very reasonable prices with very well chosen house wine. Not on the menu but ask if they will cook you Pisticcio Di Pesel we will go back just to have it again! The bill 3 courses ((free desert on this occasion) prosecco & a bottle of wine, including service less than £50.00. In London £120+
