First of all Bear Lake is a wonderful lake. And the Bluebird Inn has view on the lake and is a charming place. We had the 'bear' room, and all the items (towels etc.) had bear-designs. Cute.
Room and annex bathroom was very specious and the hostess friendly. She made us an excellent breakfast.

This year was our second stay at the BI. We are road cyclists and participated in the Bear Lake Monster Century ride. Although it's a bit of a trek from the BI into Montepelier (start of ride), it's worth it. Stay at least two nights. Everything was clean, staff was friendly and engaging, bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. The grounds are filled with flowers and the view of the lake exquisite. What more could you ask for?

This experience was so enjoyable, we hope to make it an annual getaway. The hostess was charming, the food excellent, the grounds and views were wonderful. This is really set up for adults without pets that want a comfortable visit that feels like home.

Spent one night here in mid september. The inn was not crowded, just one other couple. Had a chance to look around the main house and found all of the room unique and inviting. We stayed in the apartment located to the rear of the property. The apartment is BIG with a kitchen, living room, eating area and even a lower level. The bedroom is huge with a nice bath. The views at this property are what makes it special. The views of the lake especially at sunset were spectacular. The ground of the property are nicely landscaped with gardens, ponds, waterfalls and fountains. It is quiet here, and dark. Spent sometime in the hot tub admiring the night sky that was just full of stars. Has a visit from a few deer feeding on the apples that fell of the trees. Since there is no TV we settled in for the night early and fell of to sleep to nothing but the sound of cascading water. HOWEVER in the middle of the night was startled strait up in bed by the calls of wild animals just behind the Inn. We think it was coyotes, but they were loud and close. Lost a little sleep that night but it was a fun experience for us that we have recanted numerous time since our return. We were told there are other animals in the area at times so a little caution might be advised. Our breakfast the following day was delicious. We enjoyed conversing with our host and the couple from England that had spent the night there as well. Recommend dinner at the golf club just down the road from the inn. Food was good and there is an impressive view of the lake from the deck. Will be sure to recommend this Inn and will return if possible. Thanks for a wonderful and exciting stay.

My husband and I knew it would be beautiful, but then we thoroughly enjoyed the unexpected historical connections and stories of this lovely B&B. After a week of western trails and wildlife, we thoroughly enjoyed the comforts of home and the warmth and charm of the owners. We'll definitely go back.
