Description: Established in 1999. With three locations in Boise, Eagle and Coeur d'Alene that capture the spirit of Idaho and the Northwest, Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery is a cornerstone of Idaho's restaurant and bar industry. The original establishment is located in a once empty warehouse on the Historic Basque Block in downtown Boise, Idaho. On April 25th, 2000, history was made when we served the first cocktail to included spirits distilled in a restaurant in the US. As the nation's first restaurant distillery, Bardenay has set an industry precedent as the first full service restaurant and bar with the ability to create handcrafted liquor on-site. Our distillers are happy to give tours as time allows. Please ask your server if you are interested in a closer look at our operations. p.s. We are only allowed to sell our fine spirits by the drink. If you would like to purchase a bottle, you may do so at many of our state liquor stores.

Bardenay has become a go-to restaurant for me when I travel to the Boise, ID, area. I normally stay in Meridian which makes the Bardenay in Eagle just a 10 minute drive to get to. It has a warm & comfortable atmosphere. I have not had a bad meal there and like trialing their locally produced vodka and rum. They also have a very large selection of Bourbons and Scotchs including some I had not head of before. Very impressive. Their chorizo chilli style soup is fantastic. They also make a meatloaf sandwhich that is made from lamb and beef and gives it a fantastic and unique taste. Their chefs also know how to cook salmon...never dired out and always flavorful. Great place to unwind after a day on the road.

Great food, kind of eclectic menu and wonderful drinks, much distilled on-site...however don't go for an intimate evening of conversation because the couple next to you might become a little 'in the way'. We sat at a LONG table, for a birthday party and it's pretty noisy which is fine if that's what you're looking for. However we didn't know everyone there for our birthday party and were into our dinner for about 20 minutes before we realized the couple sitting next to us...right next to us....was another couple not even part of our party. Kinda weird. They later got up and left when another table opened. But that's the kind of place it is. Kind of slow service on the weekend...they're super busy. But, the food and the decor are TREMENDOUS. Just go with your friends or your wife, not with your date - for the first time.

Family took us to Bardenay for lunch. They proudly told us that the restaurant had been selected as having the best outdoor dining in the greater Boise area. Nice tables-lots of them. Looks like 60 or more groups could be accommodated. Very comfortable chairs. We took seats outdoors near the fireplace so the ladies could keep a little warmer on a cool October afternoon and the men could be further away.

Curtis came for our drink order right away and brought out a gluten free menu for my wife. It took us a while to decide because there were so many reasonably priced choices and very diverse offerings. Two in the group decided to have tuna, one had a club sandwich, and i tried the chili relleno sandwich with their house chili soup as my side. Both were excellent, especially the second half of the sandwich, which came with enough heat to make me smile.

Lunch, including drinks, came to just over $32. i was stunned by the bill. Four adults, four lunches and drinks...first class restaurant....and such a low bill. If i lived in the area, i would dine their regularly. It only took 7 minutes for them to prepare and deliver 4 lunches to our table. Kitchen was lightning fast.

Next visit, i want to try the Reuben. Heard their burgers were also outstanding.

This place is a gem. Way to go, Bardenay!

We were in the area sampling Idaho wines and discovered the Bardenay menu online. It looked great and we were even happier when we saw the location - right next door to our hotel. We enjoyed dinner on the patio and inside - peppercorn rib eye, fresh Idaho trout and pork chops - all good! Great service both nights. We also discovered they only charge a $5 corkage fee when you bring in a local Idaho wine!
