In town for a few days R&R. Came here for dinner one night with friends.
This is not a 'pretty' nor a romantic restaurant. It is practical, full of locals, and most welcoming. Think 'poshish canteen'.
If you are into your ales, this restaurant benefits from having an interesting choice of locally brewed beers. (Good to see this btw). The barman was helpful, I was able to discuss and sample a few different beers before buying 5 small tasting glasses. If I lived closer, I would come in and have a beer after work here.
Three of us (adults) shared two pizzas and a salad and we were full at the end. The service was a touch on the slow side, but it didn't spoil our evening.
If you are hungry and passing, it is worth eating here, you won't be disappointed. If you are a beer lover, I think you will like it, quite a lot.
