We spent 2 days at the Inn when attending another resort for a wedding. Being from Vermont this was the closest thing to home. We stayed in the Thorofare room..pleasant, quiet and immaculate.
Kirsten our host was so inviting and warm. The breakfasts she prepared were delicious..fresh fruit with yogurt if you chose. Egg quiche and a delightful warm fruit coffee cake. Kirsten was a wealth of information about the area. The guests we shared breakfast with was a total plus. Never having been in Idaho the sharing of information sent us to alternate plans...So grateful.
We spoke to David the owner back in March of this year. He took the time to send us information on McCroskey State Park as part of our travel to Priest Lake. Above and beyond.
A "10" in our book

Room Tip: Thorofare..you have your own entrance to your room

We stayed here in early July and had a wonderful time. We stayed in the papoose room which has its own bathroom but it is not inside the bedroom - but just across the hall so that was jot an issue. Kiersten was very accomodating and provided us with wine and cheese in the evening and the best breakfast I have ever been preaented with! AMAZING. There is a little path you take down to the lake which is their own private property. Although priest lake is rather excluded with little civilization, there is a lot of exploring to be done and we would go back and stay here again.

If you picture a story-book inn near a beautiful lake, this is pretty much it. The owners have added beautiful quilts and antiques to the decor, and made sure you have a comfy bed with fresh linens, but have otherwise left it otherwise serenely peaceful, the perfect place to put up your feet with a good book by the fire, or to sit outside under the stars at night.

Kiersten takes care of everything, including a nice breakfast and wine & cheese in the afternoons. Her hospitality is wonderful and we loved getting to know her during our visit. We like to stay in different places on our road trips, but this is one I hope we can return to again.

Room Tip: We checked out all the rooms and would have been happy in any of them. The way we saw it, the suite...

Perhaps the reason there are not many reviews for this place is that all the regular guests who love it want to keep it secret! It is the quintessential lodge on a lake, with nice rooms, gorgeous view, big deck with rockers and Adirondack chairs, and a dock with chairs, boat slips. Kiersten is a perfect host and every detail is taken care of. I won't repeat the descriptions provided by the other reviewers, which are all accurate. We had a wonderful stay, best of our trip driving the Selkirk Loop (Priest Lake is in the center of the loop, not actually on the loop, but well worth a side trip. Truly beautiful and tranquil).

Room Tip: Rooms on front toward lake are nice, but all seem good. Call and talk to Kiersten about room choices...

This is a lovely old inn with a ton of character and lots of antiques to match. Kiersten, the inn keeper has it polished and spotless and serves a wonderful breakfast. It has a huge deck, with a firepit, rocking chairs and adirondack chairs to relax in. The view of the lake from the deck, and from some of the rooms is spectacular. The common room is huge with lots of seating, a piano, tons of books, games and puzzles. The dining room tables are set for breakfast with fresh flowers and candles lit. Every detail is thought of! We stayed in the Thoroughfare Room, which has it's own entrance and loved it. The bathroom is spacious (shower only, double sink). The room itself is decorated perfectly in a lodge-like decor and is comfortable. The bed has a lovely home-made antique quilt and the linens were crisp and fresh...I think they iron them. Brilliant! The location is perfect close to the lake...the inn has it's own little beach and dock from which you can use one of their canoes or kayaks or just relax in one of the many chairs waiting for you. It is walking distance to the store in Coolin and to restaurants. We love this place and return every year with my siblings and our spouses. Kiersten remembers us down to details of what we do and don't like for breakfast! What a treasure!

Room Tip: Thoroughfare Room is very private with it's own entrance.

We spent the weekend here with friends for a little get-away/birthday celebration. It was very nice! It's a very old building that's been restored (awhile ago - 90's maybe), but that just adds to the country/antique decor. The hostess, Kiersten, puts out wine and cheese every evening, and make a terrific breakfast, plus she is a super friendly person. There's a nice fire pit out on the deck, and we enjoyed visiting with other guests around the fire at night. Be aware - no comupters/TV/phones/Wifi, but decent cell reception. There are plenty of games and books in the house, and nearby fun places to visit (especially if you have a boat). We plan on making this an annual event, since we had so much fun!
