Shilo Inn Suites - Coeur d'Alene
Ranked #18 of 22 Hotels in Coeur d'Alene

This is not the Shilo Inn I remember from when I stayed at them in Oregon. The hotel smells funny, the indoor pool has foggy water, the carpet in the hallways is coming up in the middle, the bed pillows are flat like pancakes and there is some mold in the bath tub grout. I had to ask the front desk if they had an ice machine because they were not in the locations the signs indicated. The desk person said the hotel had been broken into and the machines had been vandalized. I really chose the wrong hotel!

We stayed 4 nights at this facility and were very pleased with the cleanliness, price and location. We enjoyed the work out facility, sauna, steam room, and spa(jacuzzi). Plenty of clean towels for use in these areas. Staff was friendly and helpful. While it was not downtown CDA, in a small town like this it's a 5 minute drive. Lots of restaurants and shopping close by- and an espresso stand across the street! Will definitely recommend to friends and stay here again!!

We recently stayed at the Shilo Inn on Appleway Coeur d' Alene Idaho. We had dropped our kids off at the Spokane
airport and decided to take a bit of a holiday ourselves. Did some casino and a bit of sightseeing. Because the casino was full we decided to stay in town. Our first night our room was very noisy due to some mechanical problems. We contacted the desk clerk who was more than helpful they upgraded our room to the new section and gave us a suite. The room was spotlessly clean the bed was kingsize and awesome. The free breakfast coupons at JR's restaurant were most welcome and the food was good.
Would highly recommend this motor Inn and would not hesitate to stay again. Jimbo50

This was our first experience in a Shilo Inn. It was a pleasant surprise. The room and bathroom were very clean and the pillowtop mattress made it all worthwhile. This inn is very quiet and made way for a good night sleep. This inn has a resident manager who is extremely cordial and nice to know she is available 24 hrs a day. The front desk staff is very friendly and accomodating to all of our requests. The restaurant is right on the property and the breakfast was very good. We certainly plan on visiting other Shilo Inns in the future.

Our family of 5 stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of August '08. We only received our breakfast coupons on the night of arrival and not for any of the other mornings. The one morning we did try to go to breakfast but the line-up was so long there was no way our 3 boys could wait to get in. As for the free popcorn and baking...where is it??? Every night after we returned to hotel the boys (ages 10, 8 and 6) would rush to lobby to look for the FREE food....never to find any....except one night there was one bag of popcorn left....one of the boys asked if there was more but he was told "one and thats it" very rudely. We never returned to the hotel late at night so im not sure why there was never anything there but....

As for the room, I just cannot get over the green carpet...yuck. Our room smelled wet the entire time as well.....there was actually some parts of the carpet that were wet to the touch...not sure if they just shampooed it before we came or what...but the smell was terrible....

Other than those 2 major things the hotel was fine.....

Dear CallmeTrace:

I would like to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your stay with us last August. It always concerns me when we have a guest that has had a less than pleasant stay and I apologize for the issues during your stay.

Since your stay, we have made several changes to ensure that all of our guests have a positive experience at Shilo Inns. We now offer an in-house complimentary continental breakfast in our lobby each morning. The complimentary popcorn, cookies, and coffee are now available twenty-four hours.

I would like to invite you to give Shilo Inns another try the next time you are in our area and I assure you that it will be a positive experience.

Thank you,
Myron – Hotel Management

We stayed here for one night but should have stayed longer. This is one of the newer hotels in the area. The room is clean, indoor pool is excellent, there is even an exercise room. If you are staying in Coeur D'alene, I highly recommend this place !!!

A very good hotel for the price.

I stayed here with 4 kids before visiting Silverwood.

The room (not a suite) was more spacious than your usual motel room, and clean enough.

The pool and hot tub is good for a motel.

The free breakfast buffet was a terrific bargain for all of us.

There was a problem with the toilet flushing, but it was attended to promptly.
