“Excellent Service and Comfort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2008

In January and February, I left Boise, Idaho to fly to Coeur d'Alene to work every Tuesday through Thursday in the [-]

The Shiloh Inn became my comfortable home away from home.

I enjoyed the quietness of my room, which allowed me to rest and read each evening; the JB's certificate for breakfast each morning; the proximity to my office; and the gym...yes, the gym!

I enjoy exercising each day at home. This equipment at the Shiloh assured me that I could exercise regularly.

Tom, the registrar greeted me each morning, and I met the desk employees on the swing and graveyard shift. All were personable and helpful.

The Shiloh has been the location for several meetings of teachers held by the Idaho Education Association over the years. The facility has been excellent for this purpose, as well.

Stayed two nights at the Shilo Inn Coeur d'Alene. Booked directly through the hotel. King Room with sofa bed, kitchen area with sink, fridge, and microwave. Room was huge compared to king rooms at other hotels. Everything was neat and clean though the decor is a bit dated. Bathroom was clean as well but the water pressure for the shower was very weak. A unique feature to this hotel...a telephone in the bathroom in addition to two phones in the sleeping area. Sink/vanity combo near entryway, open closet area with bench for storage below. Wireless internet included in the room price was a welcomed amenity. Breakfast at the restaurant next door was good, used vouchers toward purchase off regular menu. Spa and pool area nice though jets on whirlpool seemed a little weak. Would stay here again when in the area. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Coffee/tea, cookies, and popcorn offered in the lobby area daily.

The Shilo in Coeur d'Alene is very nice and boasts a large indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and an gym with the basics. A continental breakfast is provided at the restaurant in front of the hotel. The lobby is huge; free computer/internet access is available there. There are lots of restaurants close by and it's only 5-7 minutes from the small downtown district and lake.

We stayed here three nights, booking through Priceline. The first night we got a small room, not really a suite room, right next to the freeway at the end of the hall. It was conventient to parking but lots of traffic noise. This is probably a room they give Priceline customers. The next two nights we had a regular sized suite room, away from the freeway, after we complained about the noise. This room was great with a separate seating area and two t.v.'s. It did not have a small sink, stove or dishwasher like the smaller room had but unless you intend to cook the larger sized room is preferable as it has a small refrigerator and microwave and is about twice as big.
Did not use the pool or weightroom and if you book through Priceline they do not give you breakfast coupons. There are several restaurants and fast food outlets nearby. Would stay here again if we had a room away from the freeway.

  • Liked — large room with two t.v.'s
  • Disliked — freeway noise

Huge rooms (their standard 2-queen bed rooms) came complete with microwave and small fridge. Staff were very welcoming, the best we've found anywhere.

6 adult family members stayed in 3 rooms for a couple of nights over July 4th. The front desk staff went out of their way to be helpful, making several calls for us to find out if some places we wanted to visit would be open on the 4th.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the free breakfast at a local restaurant across the parking lot from the Shilo Inn. The restaurant had very mediocre breakfast food, so get breakfast elsewhere. Otherwise, the hotel was everything we'd hoped and then some: comfortable, quiet, and centrally located. A real winner all the way around!

  • Liked — friendliness and helpfulness of staff, great beds, large size of room
  • Disliked — free breakfast at nearby restaurant

My family and I stayed at the Shilo Inn in an enormous room equipped with a refrigerator and microwave which is fantastic when traveling with kids. The pool, hot tub and gym were open 24 hours which was great again for me and the kids! They swam until midnight! Even though the property is near the highway our room was very quiet and extremely clean! We wanted a room with two queen beds but all they had was a king suite with a fold out left, I was leary...my eight year complains a lot... but it was great, both kids had a terrific nights sleep and they had theier own t.v. which was nice for Dad and I! The next day we recieved 2 hot breakfast coupons for JB's just across the parking lot and that was nice, a little tip... if you are traveling with kids use the vouchers for the adults, the kids menu items and around two dollars and te voucher is worth $3.50 tward anything they serve or you can order of a Shilo menu. We were able to purchase discounted tickets at the front desk for Silverwood a theme park only 15 minutes away and that was another great experiance. Thanks to Shilo our mini vacation was perfect! I would definately stay again!

When we booked at $69 thought it was a great rate... The rooms are clean and big.. pool ok, breakfast minimal (no eggs, bacon, waffles, nothing hot except coffee).. but ok. Wireless internet fast and easy.
My beef is the security of the rooms. They use the old metal keys, and the deadbolt can easily be unlocked with a key from the outside. No slide bars or chains! You could almost open our door (you could push it and open in a 1/4 inch) to a point you could use a credit card to unlatch it open!
Poor security.. we never left anything of value in the room. Took laptop to front desk when we left.. and took it when we ate, swam, etc.

Ended up pushing the chair and table against door at night just for security!
The only survellance camera was missing in the hall, with the wire just dangling...
Felt very unsafe there.

Also, near a few resturants.. JB's, Arbys, etc.
Not near the lake.. rather just in a business area off the freeway. Easy to find.. but bring a door alarm if you want to sleep safe.
