Taking the cruise down Lake CDA to the St. Joe River is a nice way to spend an afternoon, but 6 hours can be a bit much when you are on a cruise boat. As usual, the lake part of the cruise is very pretty and it really gets interesting when you get to the river part. You feel like you are taking a swamp tour almost going through the wetland part of the river when it hits the lake. Seeing deer on little islands in a nice treat. The chicken lunch was quite good and everything with it was tasty as well. You get a fairly nice greeting when you go on board and maps are given to give you an idea where you are going. The only real problem with the cruise is that everything spoken is from a recording and it's not real loud so you can't figure out where you are sometimes. Most of the passengers on board are socializing and it really drowns any chance of anyone from learning anything. You only spend a short time actually on the river. When there isn't much to narrate on the way back, it kind of makes for a long afternoon. If you don't mind the distractions from other people and want to see something scenic, the river cruise is a nice way to spend the day.
