Great motel, very clean, comfortable beds , frig, flat screen tv, wifi just about anything you are looking for. Really enjoyable and a fun stay. Looks like a motel you would have stayed in along Route 66 back in the day.
Try Jonesy diner a block down the street, good food and friendly people.

Room Tip: This motel is shaped like a horseshoe. Units 1 and14 are closest to the street.

Didn't know what to expect, a Motel named The Flamingo in the Mountains of Idaho?! We were pleasantly surprised with this jewel in the Lake town of Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. Art & Shelley are amazing hosts. The room are very clean and the individually design décor depicting different vacation destinations give each guest a unique experience. We had the Beach room, with all things tropical including the shower curtain. Restaurants, the town and the beautiful lake are all within walking distance. What a fun place, you have to check it out!

I confess I suffered cultural shock when I first entered my room at the Flamingo Hotel As fellow reviewer haht says this place is a far cry from granite baths and white duvets. We were allocated the Flamingo Beach room and every detail of furnishing and decor was faithful to the theme. There are literally dozens of features including larger than life parrots on the wall, a giant palm leaf ceiling fan, liberal use of bamboo, wicker chairs, tropical bed covers, themed light swtches etc etc.

When we arrived it took some time to work out the somewhat complicated lighting, But I soon learnt that like everything else in the room there was great attention to detail. The lights all have a choice of intensity allowing the occupant to create the required atmosphere .

Despite the kitch retro appearance the plumbing is very much 21st century. The sanitary fittings and hairdryer are good quality. Th housekeeping is excellent and the room is spotlessly clean.

Having got over my initial shock ( this was after all the first time we have stayed in a motel) I really warmed to this place. It is extremely rare in this day and age to be privileged to experience a service provided with such loving care

Room Tip: Ask for a room far from the road. Our room was quiet but it I likely that other rooms would have bee...

25 cent Magic Fingers. Yes. This place is just cool if you don't need modern with granite baths and white duvets. The location can't be beat. We have 2little kids and walked everywhere. Midgy and Mudgie trail, the library (fabulous on a rainy day), all the shops on Sherman st. Owner, Art, is a nice guy and very helpful. Gave us a military discount and upgrade us to a two bedroom suite.

Room Tip: Cabin fever is the perfect suite for a family. The bathroom separates the two bedrooms for extra pri...

This truly is a very nice motel. The room was spotless, I would recommend this motel if you want cleanliness and great location, walking distance to the main street. The cat CJ was an extra bonus. The staff were funny and great help.

After reading many good reviews of this establishment, we decided to try it and are very glad we did. We had room 5, the Flamingo Beach room, which was decorated in a tropical beach mode. It had everything including posters and pictures, wall paper border, wicker chairs and table, and a potted palm in that theme. The owners who bailed out of California for a better life in the beauty of Idaho have done a wonderful job of bringing a 1950's type motel into the 21st Century.
I really miss nice motels on one floor and at-the-door parking, so that's a big plus.
Although the motel is in the downtown area, it was quiet there.
One disadvantage of this place was that restaurants where we might want to eat were not within walking distance. However, any number of places were within a 3 mile drive on the main highway. Also, there is no breakfast available so factor that into the cost.
My biggest gripe was the brightness of the room - a problem for sleeping. Although the room had wooden blinds, they did little to darken the room from the security lights outside. It was possible to see everything in the room with the lights out. My wife says "just close your eyes", but for me as close to total darkness as possible is my optimum sleeping scenario.

Room Tip: see if another room's theme includes darkening drapes

My wife and teen age daughter stayed for three nights. The suite with a separate bedroom was an incredible value given the chain hotel costs. The kitchenette allowed us to cook dinner and breakfast while we were in town for a long weekend for an Appleseed shoot.

Parking was no problem. We had a late check in coming from Seattle. No problem there either.

We would stay again.

Room Tip: Check the website out and choose your room. It makes all the difference.
