Description: Established in 1999. With three locations in Boise, Eagle and Coeur d'Alene that capture the spirit of Idaho and the Northwest, Bardenay Restaurant and Distillery is a cornerstone of Idaho's restaurant and bar industry. The original establishment is located in a once empty warehouse on the Historic Basque Block in downtown Boise, Idaho. On April 25th, 2000, history was made when we served the first cocktail to included spirits distilled in a restaurant in the US. As the nation's first restaurant distillery, Bardenay has set an industry precedent as the first full service restaurant and bar with the ability to create handcrafted liquor on-site. Our distillers are happy to give tours as time allows. Please ask your server if you are interested in a closer look at our operations. p.s. We are only allowed to sell our fine spirits by the drink. If you would like to purchase a bottle, you may do so at many of our state liquor stores.

We ate here at the suggestion of the hotel where we were staying. Intial service was slow, but was got better. The food was decent, but we thought it was overpriced for the portions we got. It was packed and seemed to be a popular place on a mild evening. We've never been to a micro-distillery, but we don't drink distilled spirits. I think if we would come back to this area, we would try other restaurants rather than return here. It was just OK

Wanted to go have some great steamed clams with a glass of wine on our day off, so we decided to drive to Bardenay's from Spokane Valley. Beautiful Sunday mid afternoon walk into this place sit at the bar, bartender is talking to a guest see's us walk in but ignores us. Little to our surprise it's now 9 minutes still nothing even though we are right next to the guest he is talking to! Finally we ask are you done with that conversation and the bartender responds with I was trying to!!! He then comes over to us and asks did you want something to drink or eat . Angry now we get up to leave and he ask did you want a glass of water?? We walk out he high fives that guest he was previously talking to!!! Wow never been so insulted and treated so rudely in my life!.. Both of us are in the same buisness and both of us are are in management if our employees were to act in this manner, they probably would not have a job!! Really too bad that such a beautiful place could have such bad service. Very disappointed,! Guess we won't be telling anyone we know to try that place, really to bad wished it was different..

The appetizers, salads, and sandwiches took up more space on the menu than the entrees. This means that if you are a lighter eater, you had much to choose from for lower pricing, and if you are an ambitious eater, you could order a couple plates. The salads are excellent, and we all enjoyed our meals. Our waitress was sweet. The beer selection was good enough, even for a distillery.

Nice diverse menu and willingness to make substitutions to accommodate our vegan requests. Good beer selection and beautiful view. A bit noisy but the sunset and mama duck with chicks wandering through the patio made it a special experience.
