“Business and Family Trip - Went above our expectations!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2011

ACCOMODATIONS: My husband and I traveled with our 2 teenage sons. We had a lakeview suite. The room was spacious, modern, and extremely clean. The bathroom is to die for. It felt like being at a spa with marble everywhere, bright white towels, and comfy robes. We never saw the housecleaning staff, but our room was always made up just perfectily each afternoon we returned to our room.

STAFF/SERVICE: Everyone we encountered was extremely helpful and courteous. They really aim to please and customer service was terrific.

FOOD: We had room service twice. They were able to meet our son's gluten free needs. The food arrived within 30 minutes or less of our order and it was all the correct temperature. We ate at the Dockside restaurant twice. The Sunday brunch is one of the best we've ever had and we also had the regular lunch, which was very good. Along with the conference we were attending, we had a large banquet dinner. We have had many banquet meals with all of the fundraising events we have been to. The meal at The Coeur d'Alene's banquet was the best I have ever eaten. The chicken and beef were very tender and the huckleberry sauce and potatoes were delicious. The "chocolate bombe" they served for dessert was so rich and plentiful that I could not finish it.

ACTIVITIES: There was more to do than we had time for. We really wanted to play on their famous golf course, but there was no time in our schedule. We did go to the new lakeside infinity pool twice where we rode in a mahogony boat from the hotel to get to the pool. When we arrived, the staff set up our chairs with covers and soft cotton towels. The bar service at the pool is fantastic.
The evening boat tour with drinks and appetizers is not to be missed. You will not believe the gorgeous homes you will see, not to mention the wildlife.
I am a shopper, and there is plenty of shopping just across the street from the hotel.
We also took our boys to Silverwood, an amusement and water park not too far of a drive.

All in all, we were completely satisfied with our stay and look forward to returning in the near future!

Room Tip: For the best rooms and view, you definitely want to be in the tower.

Wow! All I can really say is WOW!

I am SO UN-impressed!!!!

Had been looking forward to coming to Coeur d'Alene for a long time. The area is beautiful! The outside grounds are nice with gorgeous flowers. The hotel lobby is average but my goodness... when we got to our room... what a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE disappointment!

We were on the 4th floor with a partial view. You do have a partial view..... part lake and part being the top of a worn out building.

The good:
* Beautiful area outside... beautiful lake and town
* The temperatures are mild in the summer
* Nice shops downstairs
* Starbuck's

What is nice in the room?
NOTHING!

The bad:
* Hotel room is VERY dated.
* Not only dated but dirty! The air vent was CAKED in dust and as I wiped things down, my lysol wipe was covered in black. We've been out this way for 2 weeks and this is the first time that things felt plain nasty... at this RESORT hotel. Not nearly as nice as a Hampton Inn but WAY more expensive
* The room is very small... they attempt to make up for it with mirrors along the wall...ALL the way and it doesn't.
* Shutters on the windows (no drapes at all) are 1/2 broken and won't close. I had to put the chair against them to keep them closed! Seriously?

I could go on and on with my disappointments but I'll stop here. I would NEVER stay here again. The upper rooms that have balconies appear to be somewhat nicer from the outside but I would never stay here again.

We are here on a business meeting and have some friends that are OUTSIDE entry at the front of the hotel and have MILDEW on their ceilings. It's about the equivalent as staying at a Motel 6 with a resort price.

HUGE, HUGE hotel that has so much potential but really needs to take action to save this place!

Stayed in Room 210....when checking in as the front desk "Is this the view of the roof I have heard of?" We have asked to be moved, but were told we would be out on the 'wait list'. I think that means, to bad so sad... Parking is $17.00 a day. Pets allowed for $75.00 charge which is nice.

Room Tip: Ask to be put in the Tower, more $ better rooms.

As a visitor from the UK I had high hopes for this destination judging from the hotel website and the photos of its position on a lovely looking lake.
OK resort hotels are not really our scene but from the prices charged we thought it would be fairly exclusive. Big mistake!
Our room on the third floor was booked knowing that it had only a partial lake view but we could only just about see past serried peaked roofs and look down at a dilapidated wooden flat roof section clearly in need of repair. The shutters on our window were hanging slightly askew and the room was small for the price and the crass attempt to make the room seem bigger by having mirrors along one wall failed. On the second day the water heating failed resulting in a freezing pre dinner shower. Overall the interior of the hotel looked tired and in need of a degree of refurbishment. Having travelled a long distance from a beautiful luxury inn on the Oregon Coast to stay here this place was a major letdown.

My wife and I enjoyed a nice weekend visit at the CDA resort. We lucked out and and were received an upgraded room. Accommodations and staff were wonderful. The lake view was gorgeous.
CDA is a curious mix of the established locals, well heeled vacationers and transplants. Watching the variety of cars cruising up and down Sherman Ave is real entertainment. The town of CDA is charming, coupled with the resort activities make for a great get away.

This was our second trip to the resort, and it was all about golf for the guys in our group. Front desk staff was very friendly and always available. The van service between the hotel and signature golf course and "floating" restaurant nearby was convenient. For non-golfers, a nice shopping and dining destination with boutiques, coffee shops, and art galleries all within walking distance. Didn't use the spa this visit, as most services are very expensive and overpriced-however the spa is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and clean, beds a bit soft, but overall nice accommodation.
The lounge with comfy seating next to the fireplace is a good location to enjoy the view of the lake and have a cocktail or afternoon snack.
One major drawback: The workout room was cramped and noisy because it was adjacent to the pool, and for adults who want to relax in the swimming pool and whirl-pool area-forget it: children of all ages were playing and splashing, it was too crowded and noisy to even get in. The pool area could have easily passed for a family style Holiday Inn, not a luxury resort spa.
Concierge service helpful with dining information and reservations. They pushed the floating restaurant nearby which is repoertedly owned by the hotel, and informed us of the nightly 16.95 prime rib special: Perfect! Food was very good, however the special ends at 6pm so our party of 10 missed out on the deal since we were booked for after 6. The concierge was not aware of the "early bird" deal, and the restaurant would not honor the special.
Overall a comfortable, enjoyable resort.

Room Tip: ask for a water view overlooking the marina.

Just returned from this resort. The hotel is beautiful, the area is scenic right on the lake, however if the bed is bad it doesn't matter how nice looking the hotel is. We checked in
to room # 347 opened the drapes and were looking out onto the roof just below us. Not much of a view! that I could handle BUT that night we slept on the softest bed ever. Not only was it way too soft but it was like sleeping in a hammock. Next morning I asked to be moved to another room and was told all the hotel beds were soft. We ended up moving into room # 549, a little better view but again the BED! way soft and broken down as if an elephant had slept in it.
Luckily we only spent 2 nights as my back would not have made it. All in all very nice hotel but if a bed matters to you.....I would look elsewhere. The bed linens were great if only they would replace those old worn out beds. P.S. also parking was $17 a night.

Thank you for your review. We have many room types with views of the city and of the lake to suit the diverse needs or our guests. Housekeeping does offer supports for the beds if they are too soft. I apologize that one was not offered to you during your stay.
