“Old Mission State Park & Cataldo Mission”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

a little piece of Idaho's History the Old Mission State Park surrounds the Cataldo Mission which is the oldest building in the state of Idaho. Founded by Father Cataldo back in the olden days it was the first mission in the whole of North Idaho. The Mission building is open to the public for a small fee and there is also a nice museum next to the mission and day picnic area. Back in the 1800s river boats used to travel up the river from the lake to bring food and visitors to the mission. If you are traveling through north Idaho on I 90 this is a nice educational stop for a break.

“even better that what you think”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

Stopped in real quick with the family on way back to Montana. Had the whole place to ourselves. Beautiful piece of history, don't miss the walking trails around the perimeter, the young kids loved it. So happy that we stopped to smell the flowers.

“Very nice stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2012

We stopped here on a whim and it was lovely....and the fee was only $5 per vehicle. The interpretive center is in a very nice building with clean washrooms. We didn't spend a tremendous amount of time looking through the exhibits but you certainly could. Very well put together and informative. Outside along with the buildings there are beautiful walking paths with breathtaking views. Certainly worth the stop.

“Original mission, newer interactive center.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2012

It is a pleasant experience for the price of parking! The old mission is extremely well maintained. The interactive center is a refuge on a hot day.
It is 100% handicapped accessible, however the trails a slightly steep and winding. Motorized wheelchairs or a strong back recommended!
