We had a great experience at this hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room. Free full service gym access. Flew in checked in and went to the downtown area just in time for Octoberfest! Streets were closed and what fun!! GREAT experience.

Spent a couple nights here while traveling this summer. This is an older building that is showing her age. The room was fairly clean, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was decent. The air-conditioner was absolutely needed during the 100+ temperatures, but it was loud and clunky and made sleeping difficult.

Room was not very clean and smelled. Bed was hard & pillows were cheap. Bathroom small and old. It had hair on floor. I could have stayed at the nice Holiday Inn around the corner for the same price. Still regreting checking in. Do not stay here. Not up to Holiday Inn standards.

The hotel was just bad. What a disappointment. The lobby smelled pretty bad, like cheap detergent. It was clean overall, but oh the smell! The lady that helped us was very nice, so they got that going for them. Gave us room 100 (stay away). It smelled like someone had smoked in that room for the last 20 years and then decided to quit and cover the smell with lots of chemicals. The result was an incredibly awful smell that gave me a massive headache. The A/C unit was loud and came off and on every 20 minutes or so. Try sleeping through that! The shower was one of those hand showers that hang on a bar and you can move up and down. Problem was, it didn't stay up. So if you're over 5 feet tall, you'd have to duck to wash your hair. The walls were super thin and I could hear all my neighbors talking. The plus was that it had an HD tv, which was great for watching the Olympics. The breakfast was just ok. Just what you'd expect from this type of hotel. I paid $90 for the night with my company discount (was $110 before). Should have paid $20 more and stayed at the regular Holiday Inn, which I accidentally went to first thinking it was my hotel. That one looked nice and new and the lobby didn't smell like death.

This is a pet friendly property. We paid a fee of $20 for 2 pets.

There was a coupon issue when we checked in. We found this hotel through a hotel coupon book. When I asked the clerk if they would honor the coupon (it was 2:00 in the afternoon on a Monday so it wasn't like the place was booked solid) she wasn't sure and had to ask another employee who said slowly and cautiously, "yeah, what the heck, go ahead and honor it." I have a hard time believing that at 2:00 in the afternoon they've filled their quota of cheap rooms. It's an artificial quota anyway so why not just honor the coupon as advertised? Not like I was calling all my friends and relatives to come down to the HIE and get a cheap room. Besides, after adding in the pet fee and taxes the room was still a $100.

The hidden fee appeared on our express check out. It was minimal but we were charged taxes on the pet fee. Really? No one else has done that.

Despite that the property was good and breakfast was also good.

Please note, if you're traveling with a pet there is an excellent park within walking distance just down the side street about 2 blocks or so with plenty of grass and even play equipment for kids. Definitely worth looking into.

Got in late, around 8PM after traveling from the Oregon coast (11hours with stops.) It was over 100 degrees in Boise that day. Got a room, kicked on the cooler, hit the pool and hot tub.

Got back to the room, the room key would not work, and the cooler was still just blowing luke-warm air. The desk said that all of the coolers were working overtime and it should cool down.

Not enough TP in the bathroom and the room was still hot. The room had a musty smell.

It finally cooled enough to sleep after mid-night. I checked the cooler in the lobby and it was blowing cold air. Told the front desk but they said there was not anything they could do about it.

would not stay here again.

Breakfast was okay...

One of the reasons we stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels (aside from the reward points) is their consistency. You always know that you're going to get a clean room, internet access, and a good night's sleep. Our stay in Boise had the added bonus of the hotel's front desk staff. Everyone we interacted with at the front desk was VERY helpful - even when I repeatedly demagnetized my room key. They were quick to give suggestions for dinner and information about the surrounding area.

You wouldn't know that the hotel is an "airport hotel" when you pull up, incidentally. The airport is about five minutes away, but we never heard a plane or saw any kind of airport traffic.
