I was checked into what the clerk said was a handicap-accessible room (I am fully abled) and the last room available. I had a confirmed reservation made a couple of weeks in advance. I was on a fairly extensive road trip, had a lot of stuff with me, wondered what would happen if a disabled person actually needed the room but liked that the room was next to the side door leading to the parking lot.

However, the lock was broken, so no room keys would work. So much for convenience. Then, my room key wouldn't open my room -- a problem other guests were having, too, which the maintenance man said was due to the age of the locks. So, lots of trips to the front desk for help.

When I first stepped into the room, a strong smell hit me in the face. I asked the clerk if someone had been smoking but she said no. I turned the AC on full blast and opened the window a crack to try to get rid of the smell. By the time an hour had passed, I was having an asthmatic reaction -- sore throat, cough, runny nose, wheezing. Called the front desk; clerk said there were no other rooms but maybe she could find another hotel for me. It was after 9 p.m. and the thought of loading my car and unloading again was kind of daunting. The smell in the room was overpowering and I still thought it was cigarette smoke. The clerk called again, said the manager told her to put me in a different room, so I moved down the hall. By morning, I had no signs of the respiratory attack of the night before. Cigarette smoke can set me off, but not usually with such severity.

When I got home, a friend said I might have been in a room where someone had cooked meth, and that made sense. What didn't make sense is that the hotel management hadn't noticed the unmistakable toxicity of the air in the room in the first place.

So, never again will I stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Stay away from room 100.

This is one of the smaller Holiday Inn Expresses I've stayed at, but what it lacks in space it makes up for with very friendly staff. Everyone was very nice from the moment I walked in through both my days there. They make the effort to be family friendly, and they have chosen to opt out of the typical Holiday-Inn Lodgenet type pornography. Breakfast was typical but kept full by the busy staff. This place is a good value. The guy I travelled with stayed at the nearby Holiday Inn and gave the same service report, but the facilities are newer and larger. If you don't mind smaller this is a good stay.

I had a short stay in Idaho. Checked in on a Sunday evening and checked out the next morning. The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean and the internet was free and working. I would recommend this hotel to friends in family traveling to Boise.

There are 2 HI Express hotels close to each other...this one was NOT on the freeway frontage road, but a little further away. Great hotel. Fantastically helpful staff. When we asked of there were local taxis we could get, to take us to a restaurant so we could avoid drinking and driving, we were offered the services of the hotel's shuttle bus (if it was available), and told to just phone the hotel when we were finished with dinner and they'd pick us up again! That worked brilliantly. (Dinner was at local Brazilian style restaurant - Tucanos - which was also excellent...and a lot of fun as my friend and I have both lived in Brazil previously.)
Again, hotel was spotlessly clean, even though not quite as new as many of the other HI hotels along our route. Nice room layout. Beds comfy and clean. Pillows good. Breakfast, free and excellent.
One of the best.

Room Tip: It's small, so most are easily accessible. Elevator nicely roomy.

One of the best Holiday Inn hotels I have stayed in. The service was great and the hotel clean. Great for families. We were upgraded for free.
