“Great Boise Attraction!”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

Zoo Boise looked a lot bigger on the map, but the quality of the attractions/exhibits definitely exceeded my expectations. My first time at the Zoo we probably saw all of the exhibits in just under two hours. Everything was extremely nice, the price is right, and there are other attractions nearby. Zoo Boise won't kill an entire day, like the San Diego zoo, but it is definitely worth a visit if you're in Boise. I returned for the zoo's annual after hours fundraiser, and had an outstanding evening with great food, and some incredible animal encounters! Visit Zoo Boise!

“Good Little Zoo in Downtown Boise”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

You are never too old to visit a zoo, especially on a brisk, autumn morning. We did just this last week at Zoo Boise. The free, convenient parking and a modest admission price were a good start and the zoo as a whole was a positive experience. The animal enclosures were clean and seemed spacious enough for the particular species. Most of the animals were very active during our visit, which was great. Following the map was very challenging so we just wandered around. I am sure we missed some exhibits. They have a varied collection of large cats and an impressive sloth exhibit, where, for a $3.00 donation my husband got to feed live worms to a friendly sloth. The most disappointing feature for us was the penguin exhibit (one of the reasons we went to the zoo); the living area for the birds was very dirty, and the view from the building was peculiar in that it was difficult to see the land areas where the penguins spend most of their time. The "penguin gallery" with names, pictures, and anecdotes about each bird was a nice touch. I also wished that they had an Idaho section highlighting the various animals found around the state. No, it's not the San Diego zoo, but Zoo Boise is a nice way to spend a couple of hours at a reasonable cost.

“Wonderful Zoo!”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

This is a very well kept, city zoo with a huge variety of animals. I was pleasantly surprised. I was there in late morning and most of the animals were very active. The admission price is very reasonable, and there are snacks and drinks available for purchase. The souvenior shop is geared towards kids. I loved this zoo. Took tons of pictures and would definitly recommend it while visiting Boise.

“Very nice little zoo.”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

We went on a Thursday, which is discount day, and it was very cheap for our family to get it in. It was not crowded at all, and we got a good look at almost all of the animals. I would definitely recommend it.
