“Huge, delicious breakfasts at a Boise mainstay!”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

If you want a big, hearty, delicious breakfast in a warm, friendly atmosphere, visit The Trolley. The coffee is fresh and hot and the omelettes fluffy and bursting with ingredients. The pancakes, waffles and crepes melt in your mouth. Be prepared for an overwhelming desire for a nap after one of these giant breakfasts!

“EGGS BENEDICT!”
Reviewed October 18, 2011

So many eggs benedict choices...so little time! I ordered the Florentine which had fresh spinach and fresh tomatoes...add the poached eggs, and a truly good hollandaise & you've got the meal that will get you thru' the day! They also have half orders with one egg instead of two. Yummy hash browns as well. My daughter recommend the "fries sauce"...a combination of ketchup and mayo that was pretty good on the hash browns! Good coffee & nice wait staff. Definitely worth checking out.

The don't accept cards but there's an ATM inside where you can get cash.

“Don't go here. Service sucks, owner is a jerk, and the food sucks.”
Reviewed June 18, 2011

I had heard this was a good breakfast place. Well, the food was just ok. I had basque sausage and eggs...the sausage was cooked to the point of charcoal before being put into tasteless eggs. there was no flavor in anything. On top of that, it was apparently cooked yesterday, as it was stone cold. The people behind us also returned food for being "rock hard". The worst part of the meal was the ownership/management. The menu says all over the breakfast section "SUBSTITUTE FRUIT FOR $1.00 EXTRA" Well, that's a lie. my husband tried to add fruit to his first choice and was told it would b e $3.95 extra as the breakfast didn't come with hashbrowns. after a couple more tries, he gave up and ordered an omelet. also completely tasteless when it arrived. Oh, and they don't come with toast. I ordered the trolley special, which said it came with hash browns or fruit. Well, forget fruit. Apparently if it says it comes with it in the meal, that's when you can upgrade for $1.00. The whole menu is filled with descriptions that apparently are not correct. The food's not cheap, either. When we did finish, we went inside to pay. Now, this isn't a "small" place like some have said. there are about a dozen tables outside, and about 2 dozen inside. Well, they don't take debit or credit cards. Nowhere on the menu, on the door, etc. does it say this. After we paid out the little cash we had on hand to pay our $25.00 breakfast bill, we mentioned to the owner that it might be a good idea to mention this upfront, she got really nasty with us and told us basically that we were unreasonable to expect that, and that we were [-] for pointing out the inaccuracies of the menu, and basically to go screw ourselves. She was really unreal. After all the times we've visited Boise (probably 12-15 times a year), and all the places we've eaten at, this was the only place that gave us such awful service. If you want crappy, cold food and to be treated like scum, by all means eat here. However, if you want to have an enjoyable time in Boise, go anywhere else!
