They open at 11:30 on Saturdays and you kinda don't want to wait too late in order to get the beef tongue. It sells out every Saturday & you won't get it for dinner because it will be gone.

They get their grass-fed beef locally.

Go for the atmosphere or for the Basque food and beer. They have a cute patio in summer right in the heart of old Boise and the Basque block. You won't be sorry!

I wish I could have their croquetas doused in Tiger sauce very day! The lamb grinder is also delicious. The ambience of this place is also pretty great. It is in a dark, old, narrow building with lots of wood paneling which makes it seem even darker. That kind of adds to the experience. I think I might just associate really good casual dining with craggy old places like this. It adds to the authenticity of the Basque food by reminding me of an old European cafe.

We absolutely love this place, it's like our go-to neighborhood pub. Great rotating taps and a huge selection of bottled micro brews (also the sangria and the coke-red wine specialty are delicious). Staff are knowledgable about beers so can describe them well and make suggestions. Food is great; some of the meat sandwiches are gravy on neat and pretty greasy, but...that's also why they're so good. Try the lamb grinder, lamb stew, soups are good, and croquetas are a must. Enjoy! PS: apparently there's a "Bar Boise" in the Basque town of Gernika.
