“Wonderful surprise on a Sunday night in Boise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

We happened upon Casa Blanca Cuban Grill, because it was one of the few restaurants in the area we were staying at in Boise on a Sunday night that was open. We had eaten at another restaurant on our way thru, but it was closed.
We were surprised by the wonderful tasty, but not spicy Cuban food. The waitress was a kick! So friendly and helpful in describing the menu options. Her mother and mother-in-law were the cooks. She explained that they had only had the restaurant for 2 years. It was a very popular place that night!
We left trying to figure out how much it would cost to ship food for lunch about 1000 miles. Decided it would be WAY too much, so we must settle for going again on our next trip thru Boise!

“Yummy and relaxed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2014

The service does not hover, and is friendly. Our meals were excellent we had the enchiladas camarones which was a red sauce with peppers shrimp and olives, delicious black beans and perfect white rice served with fried plantain patties. The dip was lemony garlic with oil a little salty but thats probably authentic. We also ordered the egg bread cuban ham pickle cheese sandwich with perfect fries and that boise fry mayoketchup dipping sauce the local area is known for. The menu has variety and is larger sized. We heard that twice a month they do live music and the place is packed, going to watch the facebook page for that and we will be back to try the flan desserts. We also had two beer in perfectly frosted mugs and the bill came to $32. The patio looks great for warm days and romantic nights. This was our first visit.

“The best cuban food outside of Florida!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2014 via mobile

This is a jewel of a find in Boise. After just returning from Fort Lauderdale where we had great cuban food, this was a delight. The pulled pork is tender and flavorful. The soups are wonderful and the fried plantains well worth the splurge. The staff are very friendly and the ambiance takes one back to the tropics! Must try.

“Great Change of Pace- Excellent Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014

Can't claim in-depth knowledge of Cuban cuisine, however, I do know what good is. And this place is Quite Good. While the croquetas do not stand up to the Basque versions from the basque market and Bar Gernika (a high standard) these are quite good and come as either ham, cod or chorizo. We were surprised that the cod was our favorite. Our meals were excellent we had the Puerco Asada and the Bacalao Vicaiano. Both were flavorful and filling. The plaintains with the Bacalao were excellent as well. Maybe a bit heavy on the salt in the preparation of the Bacalao but we are not big salt users so I wouldnt expect that to be an issue for most people. This used to house a truly terrible Mexican restaurant and that actually kept us from trying Casa Blanca until recently. That has been our loss. Looking forward to being back again soon

“Excellent and Flavorful Restaurant!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2014

Had the pleasure of eating here tonight with my husband and a few family members. The atmosphere was very relaxing and the service was fantastic! We shared a delicious appetizer that offered a little of everything and I tried the camarones enchilados and oh-my-gosh! It was so flavorful and the variety provided by the plate was great- it came with a hefty portion of shrimp, black beans, and little plantain cakes. We all finished our meal with a cup of cuban coffee and shared a piece of tres leches cake. Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely be back!
