The host were very nice and accommodating once we found the place. There were NO signs to help guide you to the B&B once you turned on the street. It looks like your going down a personal driveway but not to the B&B because there are not any signs marking the place - not even on the mail box. Thank goodness it was daylight or we never would have found the place. It was hot in Boise and smokey with very little air movement. We were on the bottom floor with small windows looking out to the court yard. Marylee brought in a fan to help circulate the air - no airconditioning. We wanted to leave early (7:30 am) so brought us some pastries for breakfast since breakfast is usually served much later 8 or 9 (can't remember). They have two cute little dogs that barked when they saw us out roaming around early. We were just passing through to Whitefish Montana.

Room Tip: We stayed in the lower room that backed into the hillside. Depending on whether it's summer or...

Thank you for staying with us. We really do appreciate it. As an update, we now have a 'green' air conditioner in Joan's Sweet so it's nice and cool. However, going into the fall, there will obviously be less of a need for it.

I agree with you about the lack of signage. We were going to have a stone made with "Boise Hillside Suites" on it and place it with a light outside. However, we decided that we really wanted this to be a home not a business. We removed all commercial aspects so people really felt at home. That said, we really do understand that and we are getting a new sign on the mailbox with "4480" on it which will be lit.

Thank you for your comments.

We stayed one night in Marjories Place after a long Harley ride across the state. We wish we could have stayed two nights! The room was great and even better than the photos. The hot tub was amazing for tired bodies after 300+ miles of riding. The bed was I think the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The breakfast the next morning was great! Keith and Marylee were awesome hosts and called us two times on our way in to make sure the check in process went off without a hitch. They have done an amazing job with the property. I can't wait to go back!

Just returned from a 3-night stay in John's Study at the Boise Hillside Suites. Highly recommend it to those looking for a more relaxing, quiet option outside of the downtown area. The room was fantastic with a great view, everything was clean and well decorated. Enjoyed eating on our private balcony, and the breakfast was some of the best I've ever had. What a wonderful way to start each morning! Keith and Marylee were excellent hosts, accommodating our early arrival and departure times. We will definitely stay at the Hillside Suites when we return to Boise.

I'm a bit delayed in posting this review since my husband and I stayed there in July, but I can't stop thinking about what a charming place we discovered in Boise! We stayed in Joan's Sweet, and it was after a long day of travel cross-country from California. We felt a sense of complete peace and calm even as we drove up the beautiful hilly road to approach the B&B. We loved that it was at the end of the road so not much noise! That calm continued as we opened the door and found our cozy nook. While Joan's Sweet is the smallest room, the innkeepers don't skimp on quality or amenities. The bed and linens were heavenly, the bathroom complete with a natural stone shower was soothing, and the soft appointments and modern kitchen space was wonderful. The innkeepers give you as much or as little space as you need, making themselves available if you have questions but not getting in the way. We mentioned casually that wanted to see the monthly art walk downtown, and they came to us with maps and brochures. And of course, as others have said, the morning breakfast was perhaps the best treat - a fun surprise of a breakfast basket waiting at our door! Our only regret was not getting to stay longer!

We just left the Boise Hillside Inn and Suites yesterday. Admittedly we were in Boise the worst possible time this year. The city was filled with smoke most of our stay, but the Bright spot was where we stayed. Keith and Mary Lee are gracious hosts. We stayed in "Johns Study" from Monday to Monday and enjoyed every moment. The room was lovely with a small adjoining sitting area. The bed was very comfortable; the linens absolutely lovely! The breakfast though, was to die for each morning! What a delectable treat each morning delivered to our door. You will not be disappointed.
In spite of our smoky weather, we had a delightful time in Boise. The inn is only a out 10 minutes from downtown, but when you're there you feel like you're outside the city. It's a great location For any and all activities you may want to enjoy in the Boise area. Millie

Room Tip: There isn't a pool and the hiking trails are the fitness center! I tried to "unmark"...

Wish we hadn't been in such a hurry to continue our journey as we could have stayed longer in this inviting atmosphere.
Keith and Marylee have done a great job with their home that they share with travelers such as us. We stayed in John's Study. The two rooms were bright and well put together with furnishings and linens.
Marylee brought us warm, freshly baked cookies as we settled in to read one of the many books on Boise that we found in the room. One such article led us to Fork-a restaurant downtown-if you have the time you won't be disappointed.
Keith brought our Breakfast in a Basket to out door the next morning. Fresh fruit with yogurt, homemade granola , OJ and a souffle topped ramkin of bacon and eggs. Weather was cooperative and we ate outside on our private balcony. A perfect start to our day.

Room Tip: John's study will give you room to spread out and relax.

We spent 4 nights at this wonderful bed and breakfast and wish we'd booked more! We were in John's Study, which has two rooms and a private balcony. The rooms are beautifully appointed and as one post stated, it looks like you are the FIRST guest to stay in the room (please note, there are no fumes of new paint or carpet that would make you feel ill, yet everything IS new). Our stay was quiet and peaceful. So nice to sit out on the balcony to read or just look out at the trees and the city. I appreciated the separate rooms in this suite so when one of us was asleep, the other person could be up for a snack or to sit on the couch or go outside. The breakfast delivered to our door in a picnic basket was a special treat to look forward to opening each morning, and having a choice to sit in the common area with other guests or eat in our room or on the balcony (our preference) was great.
Marylee and Keith are wonderful hosts. I highly recommend staying at this jewel and will never book another Boise hotel if there is a vacancy at the Hillside Suites.

Room Tip: John's Study is up a flight of stairs; the other suites are drive up access.
