One of the most attractive things about Boise is the ability to do a lot of outdoor activities. The natives joke that the Boise Valley is in the 'Banana Belt,' because the climate really is very mild. True, you are just a short drive from skiing in the winter but the valley itself is sheltered and allows almost year round outdoor activities. One very well planned part of that is the Greenbelt. It allows miles of walk/run/bike pathways along the scenic Boise River. It is an excellent resource for the people of Boise to use, for free!

25 miles of trail that meanders along the river and gives you access to a lot of Boise, especially the downtown area. Can't wait to go back so I can ride the entire 25 miles!

This was my first trip to Boise and I must say that the greenbelt was awesome to walk. My kids and I walked it multiple times between the hotel and Ann Morrison park!

took a tube trip down the river, great way to stay cool on above normal day in Boise. We didn't see any deer but the day after four deer swam across we had to read about it in the paper. The river was up and we had plenty of water to make it an exciting trip.
