“Small town Georgia dining excellence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2013

I have to give a shout out to one of my local restaurants in Washington, GA (about halfway between Athens and Augusta). The menu and the specials are terrific and the service is fast and friendly. Has one of the best fully stocked bars in Georgia, with TV screens and an expert bartender. Friendly and fun. On the Square in Washington, GA, a beautiful historic town. Worth going out of you way for. Disclaimer- the owners are my friends.

“Very tasty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2013

Stayed for 1 night in Washington (on the Plantation B&B) and they recommend this spot. Its right in the "city centre" and to be honest it was the only open one that night so we gave it a try :-)
The atmosphere is really nice, the staff super-friendly and they have a great selection of drinks and food. We had a Seafood Chowder as a starter (very nice) and after that the grilled shrimps with Sweet Potato Coins (excellent with the honey mustard sauce) and some vegetables.
Everything was really good and we didn`t need to wait long. Another couple we`ve meet was very enthuse about the steaks, so you should give this a try maybe :-)

“Delicious southern cooking”

Very friendly staff, and efficient service. Loved the fried green tomatoes -- probably the best I've had in my life. Husband really loved the shrimp & grits.

The food here is always good, and the service is good too. A wonderful place to stop and enjoy a nice lunch or dinner in the great little town of Washington.

“Excellent Place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 14, 2013

We were exploring the cute town square in Washington while on a camping trip and came across The Jockey Club. It looks upscale (and is), but they didn't look at me funny in my travel clothes or at my husband's long swim shorts. The service was wonderful, the sweet tea was perfect. We both got soup and full meals and everything that we had tasted wonderful - right down to the key lime pie and bread pudding. The prices are higher, but reasonable for what you get. About $60 for the two of us, not counting the tip. We will be back!
