“Great Southern Buffet”
Reviewed July 12, 2009

Went to the Bulloch House again for their Sat. night buffet. Had a great choice of food, including fried and boiled shrimp, pork loin, catfish, fried chicken, vegtables, salads, etc. Their Friday night buffet now comes with a free dessert bar. We love to go to the Bulloch House!!

“We Loved the Bulloch House, But......”
Reviewed November 12, 2008

During a visit to nearby family in late October 2008, we ate lunch at the Bulloch House in Warm Springs, GA. Before our trip I had scanned their website, where they listed the many good vegetable dishes, casseroles, meats, salads and desserts they offered. So we were all expecting a wonderful eating experience.

I tried the chicken and dressing, and the roast beef and gravy and thoroughly enjoyed both. But the choice was very limited in the vegetable dishes offered. I chose green beans, butter peas, cream corn and fried green tomatoes. The cream corn tasted like canned creamed corn, but the green beans, green tomatoes and peas were good. I was disappointed that there was no macaroni and cheese or potato dishes, and no casseroles. The steamed white rice was a poor substitute.
The salad bar was limited too. I skipped it. Some of us got desserts (caramel cake and banana pudding) and they were wonderful.

The lunch price per person is $8.99 plus drink and dessert, which is reasonable. I just wish we had had more choices on the buffet. Since this is such a special place, we would even be willing to pay more in order to have more of their good home cooked vegetables and casseroles on the buffet line.

“So-So In My Opinion”
Reviewed September 26, 2008

The Bulloch House is ok and some of the Southern foods they cook are great BUT I would love way more starches...where was the macaroni and cheese, where were the mashed potatoes? Where were ANY potatoes? Just buttered white rice and a ton of vegetables. We got the buffet and the final insult was that YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR DESSERT! Please. We skipped it, but I've had the Bulloch House's cake before and it was to die for! Not worth it to me, though!

“Best Southern Cooking in the State!”
Reviewed May 14, 2007

I have driven across the state many times to eat at the Bulloch House. There is nothing else like it. Drive around back to park, go on in the side door, wait to be seated and dig in. The food is served cafeteria style (none of that "family style" where you have to end up eating with a bunch of strangers at your table) and it is deceptively not fancy. But ohhhh..... wait till you taste the fried chicken, the chicken and dressing, the roast ham, the broiled chicken, and THEN save room for mountains of fresh vegetables, way too many to list and they change all the time. Just when you think you might bust a gut, you hear the desserts calling you and you only think you've seen it all till you see them! People come from all over the state (just like I do) so get there early on Sunday for lunch. Don't worry about dressing up---worry about your pants still fitting you after you leave!
