On our way to Florida we wanted to check out this resort close to Atlanta. And we are so glad we did, because next month we are going back. The accommodations were absolutely beautiful, with big living room and bedrooms and a loft for the kids. They had so much fun in their own area up there, it was hard to get them outside. And there is so much to do, 3 outdoor swimming pools, beach area, tennis courts, restaurants, we rented a paddle boat for the kids and they loved it! We cant' wait to come back in July. The whole area is so nice and the staff is super friendly. We had an issue with our TV and Casey came to help us with it and gave us such good suggestions on area restaurants and other fun things to do, like zip lining, then there is Six Flags and Atlanta of course with tons of stuff. So, we will be busy when we get back. The Tara Gardens where we stayed was a cottage, so we had no neighbors, nobody above or under us staying, like it normally is the case when we stay in hotel type condos. And the decorations made it look like home, I really liked that a lot. It made us feel so welcome and just stay forever!

Room Tip: The Tara Gardens are beautifully decorated and appointed cottages

We stayed in Tara Lake Villas. Our Villa was on the lake, unit 19. It is a little hard to find and could use better signage.
The unit itself was nice. It was a studio with a Murphy bed. The Murphy bed was a great idea for the layout but it was terribly uncomfortable.
The hot water heater either needed to be turned up or replaced with a larger one as there were two of us staying and only enough hot water for one short shower at a time.
Our envelope was not at the east gate which created a bit of a hassle when checking in.
There was a blood stained pillow in the closet which indicates to me that the cleaning between each stay is less than adequate.
Fairfield is a nice place if you want to be in a remote location and drive a minimum of 20 minutes to get to a restaurant or a store.
The Marina was opening the day we left... You would think it would be open earlier in the spring.

My husband and I had a wedding to attend last weekend in Villa Rica, Georgia. A friend suggested we stay at the resort by the lake at Fairfield Plantation. After some research we found Fairfield Planation Resort, and what a beautiful place it was! The unit was utterly spotless, and the decor was homey. It had brand new TVs, a Jacuzzi, and it was surrounded by beautiful scenery.

After reading some of the other reviews, we were slightly concerned with our choice to stay there, but after arriving we were thoroughly impressed, and we would totally recommend the resort to anyone looking for a nice, clean, and quiet location.

The only downside to our stay was the location of the condos, which are a little hard to find on the quaint, windy roads that lead to them. Otherwise, the resort was great. Again, highly recommended and we're glad we went. Thanks!

My husband and I stayed at Fairfield Plantation for our 10th Anniversary. The moment we checked in we felt welcomed. Tara was so friendly and gave us great advise on places to have our anniversary dinner. Then we opened the door to our cottage and were stunned, it was so beautiful! The decorations were so tasteful, and all the little details like we have never seen in other places. It was pretty cool for the season, so we could open sleep with our patio door open. A concert of hundreds of birds singing woke us in the morning and we had a full breakfast in kitchen which had everything for cooking. Then we went walking along the lake and enjoyed the view of all the beautiful homes around it. There were some people in paddle boats and jet skiing and we are thinking of coming back for a longer stay later in the summer. For our anniversary dinner, we went to the Square in Carrollton and had dinner at Plates which was fabulous. The service was great and the food absolutely yummy! We had a wonderful time and thank everybody at this resort for providing these beautiful accommodations.

Room Tip: The cottages at the Tara Gardens are very private.

This is a timeshare resort. It is away from everything. In April nothing is open , the pool are not heated and the marina is completely close. We had no contact with the owners after the initial arrival. The groceries were bought outside the plantation and if you are not from there bring your gps. You are going to need it. The golf course is a 4/10 . If you like peace and tranquility this is the place. Made for bookworms. The plantation is a residential area also. The weather was the only thing that kept us there other than that I think we would have done like several timeshare owners move on after two or three days. I do hope they upgrade and add a few necessities to the place.

We stayed at the Tara Villas and the whole family had fun. The Villas are very spacious and close to the pool and lake. The master bedroom had a really large bathroom and the kids had 2 queen beds with their own bathroom. There was a kitchen with all the bells and whistles and the screened-in porch was huge. While my husband was playing golf, I could lay by the pool and the kids went out on the lake with a paddle boat. We all had such a great time and will definitely be back.

This place is a timeshare. While we were only there for a few nights there was no contact from any Wyndham/Fairfield representatives. When we arrived at the East entrance gate the guard handed us an envelope and gave us directions to the unit. Inside the envelope where the electronic door keys, instructions of what to do upon departure and a few maps of the resort. Not sure how many units Wyndham has here but most of the properties seem to be private homes. The unit we were in was Tara Gardens or Tara Lake Gardens. It was a large two bedroom, two bath unit across the street from the lake in a wooded area. The parking area outside the unit could possibly fit two cars. The unit a king bed in each bedroom, a king sized sleeper sofa in the living room and a loft with two twin beds. The loft was open so it was very hot up there but did have a ceiling fan. The unit furnishings were dated and appeared to be getting worn. The rugs could use replacement or, at least, a good cleaning. The master bedroom bath only had a hand held shower in the jacuzzi tub. The tub had a tub to ceiling glass enclosure around the faucet area that made it very difficult to put the drain down and turn on the water without first putting one foot into the tub just so you could reach the faucets. Very stupid place for the glass. Since the other bathroom has a shower then Wyndham should remove the hand held shower and the glass from the Master so the faucets can be reached comfortably. When we first entered the unit had a musty smell which disapeared after the AC was on for a while. There was a full kitchen, full dining utensils and a refrigerator with a slow ice maker. There was also an apartment sized, stacked, washer and dryer. From my perspective this place is okay to stay in if you are spending a few days in the area as it is convenient to Atlanta, about 40 miles away. Ten to fifteen minutes away is Carollton which has a Logan's Steak House, a Ryans buffet and a few other restaurants. Not far is a Publix and a Walmart. There are a number of small convenience stores in the area. Four exits east on I20 is Douglasville which has a number of restaurants and a small mall. For those of you who have never stayed in a Timeshare before - there is no daily cleaning service! I get so tired of reading revues from people, not used to timeshare units, who complain that no one came in to change their towels and clean their unit. Like other timeshare units this one has a vacuum, broom/dust pan and the washer/dryer for you to use.
