“Incredible menu!”

The food was even more incredible than the menu selection. Authentic Cajun, absolutely delicious. Impeccable service and really neat atmosphere!

“Outstanding food where you'd least expect it...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

We've dined in numerous big cities across the country, and I can't believe that one of the best meals we've had would have been at Gabe's Downtown in Villa Rica, GA. Outstanding food and service at very reasonable prices. My wife had the crabmeat stuffed catfish and I had the Chicken Victoria (blackened chicken over shrimp risotto cakes). For dessert, we shared a white chocolate bread pudding. The sauces that complimented each dish were to die for - wish it wasn't frowned upon to lick plates. We stop in Villa Rica twice a year and will definitely make it a point to eat at Gabe's and work our way through the menu.

“A slightly out of the way gem!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2012

Gabes is located just off I-20 in Villa Rica, GA just west of Atlanta. It is in an unpretentious storefront in an older part of the town. The quality of food and service is outstanding. My wife and I make it a point to stop and eat there whenever we are in the area. Although their menu is extensive, my favorite dishes are the crab cakes and the shrimp and grits. It is like being in New Orleans. Their pices are reasonable, especially at lunch time, and the portions are more than adequate. Gabe's is definitely a "don't miss" restaurant if you are ever near Villa Rica, GA!

“Gabe's is City of Gold's gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2012

Nearly 40 miles outside of Atlanta, the small town of Villa Rica has a few special eating places that live up to her nickname: The City of Gold. And Gabe's Downtown is certainly one of them.
This Cajun and Creole restaurant's culinary staff never ceases to delight. And the personable wait staff add to the warmth of reception from hello to goodbye.
Gabe's atmosphere will transport you to the French Quarter in old New Orleans, and so will an ample menu featuring mouth-watering standards like blackened fish, jambalaya and etouffee to name just a few. The restaurant also offers a healthy list of wines for perfect pairings and specialty cocktails for a range of tastes. Beer lovers will find an array of draughts from local Georgia microbreweries and a few national craft breweries.

On a recent visit to celebrate a birthday, we were seated right away and our waiter ably answered our questions about dishes, wine selections and beer choices. We dined on two of Gabe's signature dishes -- ribeye steak finished in a Cabernet demi glace and herb butter, and blackened salmon with Thai coconut rice and coconut shrimp. The meal was stunning. For a very special dinner, five stars isn't enough.

Gabe's also has special offerings these days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays nights that add value to the dining experience. There are family-priced selections, so pack up the kids and bring your appetite.
