“Name me another Cocoa Museum... Can't?”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

It's located next to the cocoa processing factory in an old industrial area. Pre-booking is advisable... seriously!!!

There's a auditorium that showcase the history of cocoa and how the company runs a cocoa plantation, then followed with a glance of the processing of the factory, some raw materials of the physical look of the seeds itself and so on along the list.... you know what i'm saying~~~

Then some refreshments which all are chocolate related ^^ and last but not least, purchasing of their cocoa / chocolate related products.

Cocoa / chocolate shower gel is an "interesting" products, now start thinking!!!

Overall this is a good visit for chocolate lover and very good place to educate the children on how chocolate is made.

“A Relaxing & Educative Day-trip”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

I would recommend this Cocoa Daytrip tour to anyone if you are in Tawau. It is an educative guided tour of the cocoa plantation/village & factory. We started our tour immediately upon arrival (around 10am) & head straight to Teck Guan (TG) Cocoa Village. We were briefed on the technique of identifying & harvesting ripe cocoa. Besides, one will also get the chance to experience the nature & fresh air by trekking along tropical forest of Cocoa Culture Spring to the waterfall. You will also see the unique columnar joints/rocks formation.

After this hiking trek, we were treated a simple but plentiful lunch at the TG Cocoa House with “Hoko Tarik” performance by TG Cocoa Village staff. The lunch includes cocoa noodles, cocoa prawn roll, cocoa banana roll, cocoa snacks & jelly, tropical fruits, coconut drinks etc.

After lunch, we were driven back to Teck Guan Cocoa Museum at Tawau town where the factory is located. In this Museum, you will get to know the Cocoa origin, history, process & its usage by watching a 10 minutes video presentation at their mini theatre, and also given a short tour on the cocoa manufacturing process.

At the Museum, we were treated to cocoa refreshment such as cocoa popcorn, handmade chocolate, Hoko/Cocoa drinks etc. Over here, cocoa products were being displayed. You might want to purchase some of these “Hoko” products as hand-gifts for your friends/love ones.
It is an enthralling & fruitful trip overall. By the time we check-in to hotel, it is almost 5pm in the evening.

As TG Cocoa Village & TG Cocoa Museum is at 2 different locations, a fee is chargeable for arrangement of such tour. You may want to contact the Special Project Manager-Ms Ivy Yap (Teck Guan Group) or Mr Raymond Cheow (our special tour guide, which is also a staff member of TG).
