Description: At Steel Magnolias in Valdosta, GA our food base is urban Southern, taking the roots of classic Southern cuisine and showing a new way of looking at them. We serve our fare with an old familiar smile, where our patrons are surprised by a new approach, yet still know the secret handshake. We prepare the best quality ingredients at the freshest possible point and allow them to speak for themselves. We support local farmers and Artesian producers in an effort to become a supporting element in the community and drive our “eat local, be local” philosophy.

What a wonderful place to have great food, great service, and friendly staff. Charming location, warm and wonderful decor, and the best food in Georgia! An absolute must if you are anywhere near Valdosta.

Truly a wonderful experience. Since moving to Valdosta, this year, Steel Magnolias has become a weekend favorite. The gourmet style food with the down home taste and southern service and smile make this place our Valdosta favorite. (Sweet potato fries are phenomenal) Sit at the bar and watch them cook your meal in their beautiful open kitchen.

Went To Steel Magnolias for the first time. Ordered a bottle of wine and when the bartender served it it was red and I ordered white, told her not to worry and we enjoyed it regardless of the mistake. The bruschetta was good if you like stewed tomato rather than fresh. I had a hard time making a decison for my meal but landed on the scallops. They were cooked with pork belly which several of their dishes offer this greasy stuff. When my $20+ entree arrived there was 2 scallops on top of arugula with cherries, the entire dish tasted like old pork fat, I ate the scallops and tried the rest but just couldn't enjoy it. My husband got the shrimp and grits and it was very good. For a $107.00 I felt short changed. The service was fine as we chose to sit at the bar because it is very loud in the dining room which has a open kitchen in it. The rooftop bar was closed due to rain earlier in the day. Overall a decent experience but I will not be anxious to return.

Although we were staying in a chain hotel right off I75, we drove into downtown Valdosta for dinner to avoid having to eat in a chain restaurant. After scoping out a few of the options, we chose Steel Magnolias. The menu looked interesting and the roof top deck was inviting after a day on the road. We were impressed with the fresh ingredients and creative approach to the food preparation. Arugula salads. Mussels in a creamy sauce. Shrimp and sausage with grits. All yummy! Along with a bottle of Rose, it was a fabulous outdoor evening after a long day of driving.
