“Food fine, service SLOW, won't go back for dinner.”
Reviewed December 8, 2012 via mobile

We went downtown for First Friday hoping to get some dinner and enjoy some music. We decided on the Bistro for dinner. The restaurant was about half full, and the bar was not super busy either. We arrived about 7:30 and didn't have all of our drinks until 45 minutes later. We were concerned about ordering dinner at this point but the waitress assured us it wouldn't be a problem. Well...about 9:15 we get our dinner. The manager did apologize and gave us 40% off. But it really took away from our evening and being able to check out other places downtown before things started to slow down.

“Elegant Dining”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

In downtown Valdosta you will find a most elegant restaurant. Here they offer a creative menu, presentation is 1st class, tables with linen tablecloths and napkins (no wipe down tables or paper napkins here like other places). A place where you can dress to go out for dinner, wine, dine, and relax plus outside dining. They are excellent in creating virtually anything on the menu into a child's portion. They have live music some nights, full beverage bar and an excellent wine cellar. Manager ‘Patrick’ had his watchful eye over the operation the whole time, our waitress ‘Elizabeth’ was fantastic.

“Location and Atmosphere were nice”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

I did not eat here, although I did jog by it and the outdoor seating and interior were classic downtown style fine dining. I would try it out if looking for a nice dinner spot.

“Hit or Miss .. mostly "hit"”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

For South Georgia, this is pretty good fare. And most my meals their have been enjoyable. But like ALL restaurants it can be hit or miss. Last time was a miss... mostly due to steak being overcooked and waitperson not the most attentive server. All in all, if you’re in this part of Valdosta, you’ll be pleased. And nice, restored historic downtown to walk around...

“Food good most of the time.”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

My wife and I used to go there to celebrate special occasions. The food was good. I especially like the sesame-ginger crusted tuna steak. They also had/have a good pepper corn steak. The food is very pricey and for this town it does really rate upscale. But over the years it seems to have stagnated. No change in menu at all, no evidence of a chef that tries to come up with unique and local dishes. Before we go back again we will probably ask around and see what people think.
