We usually visit Tybee Island/Savannah in early summer. The lines are usually around the block, long, and you are NOT allowed to wait inside. You wait OUTSIDE till they come and get you. The approach is definitely gruff, and the place is very small and cramped. We went during the off season in October and no on was there.
The food is good. Basic fare, some neat specials sometimes. But we come here, which is really out of our way when we go to Savannah, because they have hands down the BEST WAFFLES EVER. EVER! ANYWHERE. I'm not kidding. THE BEST. The pecan waffle is particularly great. It's crispy and kind of like a not-too-sweet donut from the cider mill. DIVINE. We will ALWAYS come back. Yes, the waffles are worth the drive from Hilton Head Island, SC.
