Description: The Crab Shack isn't just a restaurant, it's a destination! We seat more than 700 guests and offer both indoor and outdoor dining options. Both dining rooms and our outdoor dining deck offer picturesque views of Chimney Creek. Both the young and young-at-heart will enjoy our interactive, educational "Gator Lagoon" which is home to 78 baby alligators; our aviary which is home to more than a dozen rescued exotic birds, and our "Gift Shack". The Crab Shack offers traditional Low Country fare, including fresh streamed and boiled seafood and slow-cooked BBQ. We also have a kid's menu available with burgers, hot dogs, and pizza. The Crab Shack is and always has been a family owned business, and recently began shipping our entrees in ready-to-be-cooked kits through LoCo To Go. Stop by and experience all we have to offer for yourself!

WORST food we have eaten in the two weeks here in Savannah!!! Everyone had recommended this eatery since our arrival here at the Marriott Riverfront Savannah.

We should have left right in the beginning when we were seated, as we were met with a grimmey, sticky, grubby table with dirt that had congelled on the edges. However, we stayed and were told by the very friendly waitress that Crabshack was WELL known and had won awards for certain best meals and that all meals were prepared from scratched, nothing was precooked! REALLY!
Thus,we ordered these so-called famous award winning meals, i.e. BBQ smoked chicken and ribs. AWFUL,meal was tasteless unless you drowned them in the small pot of sauce you were given on the side. The chicken was DEFINITELY NOT barbequed! Rather, it appeared boiled as the skin was all wrinkly and shrivelled! Tasteless as well. The corn had obviously been left in a pot of water for hours, making them soggy & tasteless. The highlight of the meal, the coleslaw.

Back at the hotel now, all 3 of us are nursing very sore, bloated bellies from this unpleasant meal. What should have been a great evening out considering the weather, has turned into a miserable evening in our hotel suite!

We shall discourage anyone we meet, not to go to this establishment.

We go here every time we're in town. It's a fun place with great outdoor seating. Very casual, family friendly. There are little tiny alligators out front in a lagoon, which never fails to entrance little kids. We always get the low country boil which is HUGE! Crab, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn on the cob all seasoned to perfection. It's the perfect "vacation" type restaurant - you can go in your beach clothes and sit outside and look at the water. I love it!

Somebody said it best before me: the check was an insult. Frozen shrimp (couldn't even be peeled out of their tissue-like shells, they were so mushy), frozen corn (kind of like some type of corn mush molded onto a styrofoam cob), frozen sausage, all-breading frozen deviled crab, and their famous (because it's so bad?) crab stew. All tasted like a tablespoon of salt (except for the stew: remember the wheat paste you used to use in school for paper mache?)...no kidding, the potatoes were so salty that they were inedible. Topped off by a sullen waitress. Three adults, one 5-year old: almost $70.

Tourist-trap atmosphere was kinda cool for my 5-year-old, and might have made it worthwhile...but they insult you as a customer with the worthless food at a ridiculous price.

AND, to top it all off: my wife and 5-year-old daughter went to the women's rest room (curtains, no doors) to find a drunk man urinating. Nice. That says it all about this place.

We went to Tybee and passes signs... we stopped in to realize it wasn't a frachise it was a local based restaurant and we loved it. Our group enjoyed it very much. It was a wonderful atmosphere and lots of fun. Service was great and food was spicy and delicious. Tables were really convenient for the mess with all the seafood and crab cracking. It's like a giant fort or tree house over a swamp of gators.. :) very cute!!

This was recommened by a good friend. He said we would want to sit and drink a beer while the sun set, and he was right. Resturant is out in the open, has a live alligaor pond, trees growing out of the floor, cats walking around, kinda eccentric littel place, but man the food is awesome!!!!!!! I highly reccommend this place. We were there for a late lunch on a friday afternoon around 4....waited about 5 min before sitting......When in Tybee a must do place to eat!
