Description: The Crab Shack isn't just a restaurant, it's a destination! We seat more than 700 guests and offer both indoor and outdoor dining options. Both dining rooms and our outdoor dining deck offer picturesque views of Chimney Creek. Both the young and young-at-heart will enjoy our interactive, educational "Gator Lagoon" which is home to 78 baby alligators; our aviary which is home to more than a dozen rescued exotic birds, and our "Gift Shack". The Crab Shack offers traditional Low Country fare, including fresh streamed and boiled seafood and slow-cooked BBQ. We also have a kid's menu available with burgers, hot dogs, and pizza. The Crab Shack is and always has been a family owned business, and recently began shipping our entrees in ready-to-be-cooked kits through LoCo To Go. Stop by and experience all we have to offer for yourself!

My family of 5 enjoyed our stop here... yes there were cats roaming around on the outside deck while we were eating, but no worries... they pretty much ignore you & the food was so delicious, it wasn't a problem! I definitely recommend a visit here. Loved the whole quirky setup... and food, lol

This quanit restaurant is located right on the water and is a must-do restaurant stop for any family with kids. The restaurant itself is very beachy looking, right on the water. It was chilly when we were there so we ate inside, but the outside seating looked heavenly. I'd love to go back and sit outside sometime. We went here for lunch and they did offer some very reasonable lunch specials. I had a shrimp salad sandwhich and a small bowl of seafood chowder which was all very delicious and less than $9.00. The restaurant seems to be popular for their steamed entrees which all looked very good.

Now for the kids...there is a huge area with aligators. There seemed to be at least 30 baby gators in this area. You can buy food to feed them and there's a great ramp/viewing area to stand and watch them. There is also an enclosed area next to the gift shop that houses at least 6 or 8 "rescused" exotic birds. There's a little poster with a story of each bird. You can walk around and "talk" to the birds as long as you like. And there's one last animal attraction--cats. They had all kinds of stray cats roaming around. (Alligators, birds, and stray cats seemed like an odd combination to me, but it seems to work at the Crab Shack.) The cats are clearly strays (some were kind of bedraggled looking, but well fed nonetheless).

This is definietly a fun stop for lunch or dinner while on Tybee Island.

Really enjoyed the seafood platter...boiled shrimp, 2 kinds of crab legs, mussels, crawfish, sausage, red potatoes...great flavor. Very casual atmosphere; lots of fun for kids. We were there on a Monday evening so plenty of seating.

If your a cat lover it's an ideal place. Cats running around your legs as you eat(gross as hell) and food is way over rated. Great place to get a hair ball. Barf.

We ate here at 3 pm during March. It was very busy but u could be seated immediately. We got the sampler for 3 for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 11 and 13. We had a lot of food left but it was very good. The atmosphere is relaxing. I consider the crab shack a must do.
