Description: The Crab Shack isn't just a restaurant, it's a destination! We seat more than 700 guests and offer both indoor and outdoor dining options. Both dining rooms and our outdoor dining deck offer picturesque views of Chimney Creek. Both the young and young-at-heart will enjoy our interactive, educational "Gator Lagoon" which is home to 78 baby alligators; our aviary which is home to more than a dozen rescued exotic birds, and our "Gift Shack". The Crab Shack offers traditional Low Country fare, including fresh streamed and boiled seafood and slow-cooked BBQ. We also have a kid's menu available with burgers, hot dogs, and pizza. The Crab Shack is and always has been a family owned business, and recently began shipping our entrees in ready-to-be-cooked kits through LoCo To Go. Stop by and experience all we have to offer for yourself!

We read a review that this would be a good place to bring kids. We had snow crab legs and shrimp and a couple of drinks. Seafood was very good quality. Only complaint is that the lunch came out to $73.

Crab and shellfish is definitely the thing to order here. The place is very informal and colorfully decorated. The service could not have been better. We were there last Friday (before St. Patrick's Day) and were entertained by a colorfully costumed parade complete with tuba, horns, drums, and a dancer in bright green marching right through the eating areas.
Food was good and fresh, not inexpensive. Drinks were a bit pricey as well. But considering the "fun" factor, well worth it. They also have an area with alligators, tropical rescue birds, and a cute gift shop.

While celebrating my birthday this weekend, I wanted to enjoy some great seafood. A recommendation by the staff at the hotel that I stayed was The Crab Shack on the way to Tybee Island.
Upon arrival, the staff was friendly and Mandy, our waitress, was excellent. The food was fresh and seasoned to perfection. I especially liked the sausage and potatoes.
I recommend this spot for the seafood lover.

Had heard a lot about this place and wasn't expecting much on a 2nd visit based upon the spotty reviews. Went to Tybee Island to visit the Fort Pulaski historic site and decided to stop in at the Crab Shack to see if it had improved over my last visit several years ago. Nope ...the same. Service was quick and efficient, but the food was just so-so, not bad just nothing to write home about. Had a pulled pork sandwich and a bowl of Brunswick stew. The stew was pretty thin and watery, not like you'll find in north Georgia were it is thick and meaty. The sandwich was ok, but something you could get at any sandwich shop. The place is funky looking, to attract tourists who have never been to a little coastal town.

We visited The Crab Shack on the advice of a friend and found it to be everything we were told it would be. It is a laid back place with great seafood options and a very friendly staff. We all loved the atmosphere as well. We were celebrating one of our group member's milestone birthday and the staff really went out of their way to make it a special night. Thanks Crab Shack!
