We've been coming to Tybee for years to spend Thanksgiving. We've never been able to eat here for one reason or another (construction, renovations, parking, etc.). Tonight we showed up at 7pm and were turned away. Others were eating and drinking, but they would not seat us saying that renovations start tomorrow. No info on their Facebook page about this. So we wasted time, drove to the opposite end of the island, and weren't even able to sit down at 7pm on a Sunday night. This is not a serious business. They're a joke and care not about their customers. Good luck.

Thank Annie W

Didn't have much time on Tybee on my first visit but found this beach/access towards sunset. What a lovely spot! And there was a wedding going on too. Didn't swim but great strolling!

I did not find this to be a pretty beach despite it being the one my family who live in south Georgia prefer to go to. They like it because it's less crowded than near the pier. It also is closer to the island causeway. So there's less traffic to deal with at the end of the day leaving vs driving from near the pier.

It's near the river though. So debris washes up on it. The high tide flows over a rise on the beach. So even if you position your chairs at the highest point so you can view the water, the tide is going to rush in underneath you and get your stuff wet. Don't leave your things there to run get something to eat!

Unlike at the pier, I didn't see any public bathrooms. Perhaps there are by the lighthouse though.

Unless it's much further from where you live or are staying, I would drive the extra miles and go to Hilton Head instead. It's the same brown water. But the sand isn't as dark brown and the beach is much wider. There are more things to do and places to eat.

Such a pretty and tranquil beach! The sand is comprised of a ton of crushed shells (and some whole!) that's perfect to walk and search for shells.

We saw a dolphin playing right off the coast. The sand, water and amenities are super clean. In fact, the restroom are is one of the cleanest public places I've ever been to. I was super impressed.

There's a lot of public parking, too. And great restaurant options in walking distance! Highly recommend!

We rented a condo on North Beach and we were very happy with our choice. This part of the island is less populated so the beach was peaceful and extremely clean. We really liked being away from the crowded beaches.
