Near the north end of the island, you are away from most (not all) restaurants and shops, but you can easily walk anywhwre as we did every day. There is NO free parking on the island so it was nice to park at check in and never move the car. A spacious and clean room with really no view of the beach to speak of - if you open your curtains, everyone walking by on the exterior hallway can look right in. It would really just be a sliver of a beach view anyway, but who cares - just in the room to sleep, enjoy the beach more up close anyway! A fridge and MW right in the room. Very comfortable bed and good pillows. Excellent pool area, a wind protected patio, a place to lay in lounge chairs in the sand on the hotel side of the dunes, and of course, the beautiful beach right there - no parking lot to walk across! This hotel is not the cheapest on the island, but there were no sketchy characters or wildness into the evening which was just what we were looking for. A good souvenir shop across the street, and a terrific restaurant , Marlin Monroe's right next door, were convenient.
A few things to improve on - for breakfast, there is a teeny tiny area for a lot of people. No fruit, a barely functioning toaster, and weak coffee. At check in, guests don't yet know there are places to sit outside to eat - please tell us! No smoking is allowed in the rooms, but it is on the property. Guests were smoking on the outside hallway every morning when we went out, yuck! Also, by the pool, etc. which you could not get away from. The door to our bathroom wouldn't really close, it would kind of pop back open, and there was no vent / fan in the bathroom.
Overall, we really liked it , the staff was very nice, and we would stay here again.

It was our honeymoon. Our credit card was charged $250.00 for smoking in the room and we don't smoke. We tried to reason with the manager and owner and they refused. They could not give proof of any smoking. We had to call the front desk at 5 a.m. to report vandalism and guys urinating off the top balcony. We strongly recommend any other place onTybee Island than this hotel. Tybee itself is a great place

It is an older hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms (ocean view) were on the small side. The shower and toilet were right next to the bed while the sink area was around the corner in the hallway entrance. The continental breakfast consisted of oatmeal, bagels, tiny donuts, toast, cereal, yogurt, juice, milk and coffee. I didn't appreciate the fact that the milk was brought in a pitcher rather than single servings. It seemed as though they kept running out of food. The dining area is very small and you'll find yourself waiting in line to toast a bagel. Also, too much noise.

I spent 3 days at this older but great hotel. Rooms are clean which is very important to me and my family. Our room was not facing the beach but its just a few steps to the pool and sand. The staff is very friendly and answered many questions about where to eat and visit this being our first time here was helpful. We will use this hotel again in the summer for out vacation.

This is an old property that has (and continues) renovations that keep it clean, but not a lot can be done for the fact that it is an older property with yesterday's access and parking. The one bright spot is that it is clean and has a heated pool (a heated pool is a rare thing on Tybee)

You must understand the typical expectations you should have for a "Tybee Island" experience. This isn't a first class resort area by any definition. 1950's "Family" vacation is the closest you will come to defining it (that's not bad if yu understand it up front!). There are few restaurants in the area and none of them take reservations (The "Breakfast Club" will even make you wait outside in the rain!). Don't even bother to go to Uncle Bubba's ... trust me on this!.

. .

Room Tip: All rooms are Beach View - but Beach Front is best
